It makes the game a lot more fun to have guys like that.

There's players I root for and players I root against, but it's based on aesthetics (I "hate" Evan Turner because he makes basketball look ugly as eff, for example) and other on-the-court stuff. I take very little stock in the PR wing of the NBA.
for me agreeing to a contract and then going back on it is a pretty scummy and cowardly thing to do. For that reason I will root against him.

Another scumbag move was when Boozer SCREWED the Cavs.

Boozer's was a hundred times worse.  He was restricted I believe and worked out an agreement to enter a new contract instead of extending his current one.  In order to do this the Cavs had to release him from the current contract.  They did so in what seemed like a formality and then he went off and signed with another team.  Boozer's was outright deception.  Jordan just seems wishy washy.

Sources: Doc Rivers, Steve Ballmer, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, Paul Pierce and JJ Redick are converging on Houston to meet with Jordan.

Awesome. Mavs picking looking better.

Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne, Chris Paul, Clipper's owner, and doc going to Houston today, Marc Cuban also in Houston today.

Maybe Cuban and Steve Ballmer will fight, and the winner takes DJ

I worry the Mavs pick will get much worse. What do they do? Cuban said they'd tank if they didn't get DJ.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

Maybe they will, but that's no guarantee they end up with a pick in the Top 7.
Celtics fan for life.

Pierce already doing work for his new team

and if the Mavs do tank, let's wish they fall out of top 7 ;)

Isnt the pick protected? They probably tank hard and keep it

So by the numbers…

* C's essentially trade Doc for a 1st rd pick (RJ Hunter)

* Doc turns Jordan into a max guy and elevates his game

* C's trade Rondo for what becomes a 1st rd pick, Crowder, and 3 2nd rd picks

* Jordan agrees to sign with the Mavs

* Mavs stop targeting FA's thinking their money is tied up

* Jordan reconsiders signing with Dallas with Doc leading the way of his change of heart

So thank you Doc and Rondo! We couldn't have done it without you!

Boozer's was a little more complicated than that.  He has a Chandler Parsons like deal, that had a team option that was really cheap.  The team declined the optiin so that he could enter restricted free agency.  The Cavs said they had an agreement on a new contract -- of course, agreeing on the contract before declining Boozer's option would be against the CBA, so it's unclear how much of an agreement they had. Boozer, obviously, said they had agreed to nothing.  Utah offered something that reportedly beat the Cavs offer by 50%, so Boozer accepted that offer.  Of course, the Cavs could have matched the offer sheet if they wanted, since he was a restricted free agent.

seems like there should be some formal rules about this. if this happened to us it'd feel pretty horrible.

This is pretty horrible for any team who has verbal commitment. With that said, here is hoping the mavericks end up with 8th pick and Nets win the lottery in 2016 :D :D :D

Guys, the real opportunity here is to send Evan Turner and Phil Pressey out to convince Bass to come back since nothing has been signed with the Lakers yet!!
