They still have Amare and Bargs on their roster. And a ball hog in Melo + very mediocre players who don't do much. Monroe and Afflalo aren't going to change their fortunes.

I think Monroe and Harris are our best chance to get a lot better this year. If we lose out on Monroe to the stinking Knicks I won't be happy.

Our spaced out system is better for him, we have a brighter future, a better coach and a better run organization.

Does not matter. He has a better chance at endorsements and bars close past 2 am. Women are much better there too. Young guy like him, why wouldn't you choose?

It looks like were gonna strike out in not only draft night but free agency. This sucks.

I'm betting they won't strike out, but instead hit an infield single by signing Kosta Koufos.

Either that, or solve the roster issues by making trades to reallocate assets and open up playing time for youngsters.
Yeah, if we aren't able to get an upgrade via free agency, we will need to make some trades to consolidate our roster so our young players can grow.

If we can't get an upgrade via free agency or a trade then I think we will take on salary for a future pick (like David Lee or Hibbert)
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Endorsements - probably. But a NBA player does not need to play for Knicks when it comes to women. ;)

Could be an interesting team.

Grant / Calderon - Afflalo - Melo - West / Porzingis - Monroe

That is a nice team. Definitely not a contender but it should make the playoffs.

The Knicks and Lakers are always the front runners before free agency starts.

Then the meeting start to happen, and suddenly, the best players on the market go somewhere else.

So I will believe the Knicks will sign these players when they actually sign the players.

Boston cannot compete with NYC in luring free agents even if they had a title team on all rookie deals and 60 million in cap room. If NY had the same cap room then Boston is automatically out.

Amare went to Dallas and Bargnani's contract expired.

Come on. You are all shocked? Boston will never attract free agents. For the people who claim that all they need to do is be a contender and the talent will come look at the Knicks. Pure dumpster fire of an organization but plays in NYC in an awesome city with great night life. At least this will get Danny to tank harder next year.

But but making The playoffs attracts more free agents

No one seemed too shocked to me.

Marc Gasol reportedly has no interest in LA and despite all the magical night life of New York and LA San Antonio are the favorites for Aldridge.

In fact with gasol Aldridge and Jordan available isn't David west Greg Monroe and  Aaron Afflolo a pretty week haul for such an unbeatable destination?

Than what? Than being in NYC?

Boston is more attractive of a location because they made the playoffs than had they just sucked this year.

Whether or not the value outweighs the value of sucking is an altogether different discussion which has been beaten to death.

I know right. The only chance Boston has at FA are with the ones who are in restricted FA because they can either sign and trade or structure a deal that the original team just isn't willing to match.
