Chandler is too old and has slowed down already. Regarding Ellis, we already have about 4 guys at that position that are younger and will fit much better in CBS's system, and cost a heck of a lot less. We need to spend our money elsewhere, at SF and Center.
Pretty much agree. I would only take Chandler if there were no other rim defenders left and we had signed, say, Love and Harris and absolutely needed one to contend for the conference title (really unlikely). He's probably too expensive anyway.

Let's not worry about how "expensive" a certain player is. The Celtics are a multi-million dollar franchise with plenty of money to spend. It's not like they are crying poverty. Plus its not our money so that shouldn't be a concern.
By too expensive, I mean that if we sign Love and Harris, we wouldn't have room to sign Chandler or any expensive rim defender. Other than for cap purposes, I couldn't care less what players make. Just to sign Love and Harris might require us to trade both Wallace and Turner without taking salary back. Adding a rim defender might further require us to trade Bradley without taking salary back.
