Word is there is mutual interest between Deandre Jordan and the Mavs and Ellis opted out.

Both guys would be great additions to the team and Chandler would provide leadership and stability (also someone that Sullinger could REALLY benefit from.)

Ellis is a great shooter and Chander is still a beast in the paint.

Would be very happy with both guys (and imagine if we can still get Harris.)

Rather do nothing and try again next year.

Not me.

Why "not do nothing" and just stay where we are currently at?

Adding Ellis, Chandler and maybe Harris makes us a contender and a much better team.

I want to see us playing for the playoffs, not draft picks.

Now you're moving the goal post. Now you have us acquiring other FAs and then adding these guys on top of it.

Last thing we need is another SG.  Chandler... seems everywhere he goes people want to get rid of him.

We need a SF, Tobias Harris might be a good option.  Other than that it probably looks like we should just go young if Love is going back to Cleveland.  Aldridge will go to LA or San Antonio and Gasol with stay in Memphis.  Pretty much leaves us on the outside looking in on FAs.

I would be stoked to get someone like Tyson Chandler. I would avoid Monta Ellis, I think we have enough guards at this point. The 4 and 5 spot in FA is much more saturated and could offer opportunities to improve. I like Chandler, I like Monroe; both could make the Celtics a better team.

Chandler would be an absolute last resort signing on a 2 year deal if every otter center says no.  Very injury prone.

I want no part of Ellis, none.
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

Agreed. I don't believe we're going to attract a premier free agent this year, next year or anytime thereafter without acquiring a star via trade first.  So just spend the money, and floor a competitive team. Hope some of the kids improve and go from there.

Word is if DeAndre bolts for DAL, LAC would try to facilitate a sign-and-trade for Chandler to salvage at least a similar player to fill that hole.

I like Monta's game a lot. In fact, I remember Danny's desire for him when he was drafted, but Monta is undersized with no 3pt range. Sounds kind of familiar to our own starting SG, except he actually plays good D.

I've also heard that Monta wants to play for ATL, and to be honest he might be a better fit there.

If we shoot for the moon and totally strike out, these two wouldn't be a terrible consolation prize, as they address specific needs of ours (scoring + rim protection),but I question Monta's heart and desire in terms of meshing with the young team's chemistry, even with veterans like GDUBS and Chandler (potentially).

That's sounds more like an unfounded assumption than an actual fact.

I've never heard anyone say anything bad about Chandler as a player or person. I know there was some back and forth between him and the Knicks last year after the Dallas trade but consider the source. The Knicks are a mess of a front office.

Also, Chandler is coming off a season where he averaged 10 points and 12 rebounds per game.

Also, IMO Ellis is an upgrade over Bradley.

I've heard the same thing but my question would be what benefit does Dallas have to do a sign and trade with the Clippers if they can just sign Jordan as a free agent?

I am just saying if we struck out on the top free agents which it sounds like we might (referring to LMA, Love, Gasol and Jordan) then going after guys like Ellis, Chandler and Harris would be a very nice consolation prize and would improve our team exponentially from last season.

Instead of being lucky to make the playoffs which we were this year, I want us to be in the driver's seat for a playoff spot next year.

Chandler is kind of old, but still would be solid for us. It all depends on how much he wants. I think we are just about set for guards though.

Disagree.  Pretty strongly.

I'd love that. Atlanta need another creator out there on the perimeter besides Jeff Teague. Too much responsibility on Teague. Monta would give them real diversity offensively. Make them much more difficult to defend against.
