At least the team we will be rooting for to lose next years resides in Brooklyn. I am lookimg at this coming year as a time for our young players to further develop into either cornerstones or trade chips.

Even if Kevin Love came through the miracle door, we are still not getting by the Cavs for a few years. Adding Monroe and Harris would not put us over the top next year but might set us up to make run at someone big in the summer of 2016. With another year of development, perhaps our assets will turn into assets desired by others.

I would imagine that if we stay the course, we will be fighting for the 7 to 8th seed againagain with a chance of us landing in the lottery next to the Nets.

If we don't land one this year with how many there are and all our cap space we can at least put to bed the debate on if we are a destination or not.

Oh, and how much that playoff run helped our attractiveness to free agents.

It is NOT even July 1st and you are putting things in bed.  I am so SICK and TIRED of the pessimism and the glass half empty attitude on this stinking blog!!!!!!!!!

There is no reason to be be SICK and TIRED of other people's opinions when you have no control of them.It is the expectation that other people should be optimistic and have a glass full attitude that needs to be questioned.

There is plenty of reason to be sick and tired of all the amateur GM nonsense around here.

Sure thing.

We should all be excited about our team, the 8 guards we have on the roster and the 30 draft picks we've accumulate that nobody wants and that Charlotte didn't even want for Frank freakin Kaminsky.

It's all peaches and cream.

I've got no problem if someone is disappointed because Ainge passed on Dekker, Portis, etc.

I've got no problem if someone is upset because Ainge has 8 guards on the roster when the regular season starts IN OCTOBER.

I do have a problem with people getting hysterical over the regular season roster before summer league has even begun.

I also have a problem with people blaming Ainge for Michael Jordan being such an awful GM.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
its cool, guys... we can still try to get Biyombo.

That would be like getting this year's sixth pick for free, right?

You should create another Anthony Bennett-like thread on the advantages of signing Biyombo. I seriously had myself excited that trading for Bennett would be awesome...

I know I have been getting my hopes up lately but deep down I still think next year is when we start to see bigger moves on our team for the following reasons;

1. We could have up to 4 first round draft picks with the potential of them being lottery picks of varying degrees plus even more second picks.

2. We'll have a better idea of how valuable our future picks are, the pick swap in 2017 with the Nets, 2018 Nets pick, and future Grizzlies pick.

3. This gives Sully a year to restore his value going into his contract year, and we'll have another year to see if others have a leap in their game Smart, KO, Zeller, Bradley, Young ect that will only increase their trade value, or have a better idea if we want to keep them around or not.  Even someone like Turner if he continues to play well as he did down the stretch when he settled in at SF will help his trade value.  Overall if we play anywhere close to the 24 and 12 that we finished the season with it's going to help everyones trade value.

4. All 3 points ties in that it may better timing to trade for or sign a big name free agent starting next year.

I'm willing to be patient with all this, and in the meantime we might have a chance to win the division if the Raptors decide to rebuild. ;)

It's all confused ATM, but this wouldn't be the biggest tragedy ever. I think many of our targets are seeing the Celtics rebuild as being a year away, so they won't consider a move to Boston until then. DA may have other ideas.

And that's how it will be. The Celtics aren't getting another legend like they did with KG and the Big 3. Not that there are much legends currently to choose from.

25 years of mediocrity, get ready.

You mean like all the other teams with stars currently on their team or teams who have had one?  ::)

No he means one of those players you give up everyone for like Demarcus Cousins.  If you get that guy you are an instant contender, every single year, no matter who or how much you give up to get him.  Instant playoffs every year and 50 win seasons.  ::)

Tell that to the Kings

Those stars are just that-stars. They aren't legends by any means. Love, Curry, Irving, Cousins, Dwight, Harden, you name it. Comparing them to legends like KG and Duncan and Kobe is literally insulting those three guys as well as others. Those teams have stars and all, but I don't see them winning the title. With the exception of this year's Warriors, I see legends like LeBron, KG, Dirk and Kobe winning over the past 8 years. Not these so called "stars"

I understand what your trying to say but don't get stuck in the pass with NBA players

Don't like it?  Purchase the franchise from Wyc, Steve, et al. and play GM yourself.  Or better yet, jump on the Cavs bandwagon and root for LeBron.
Otherwise, continue to moan and groan but don't be surprised when other posters here push back against your constant kvetching.
