As Orlando restricted free agent Tobias Harris will pursue a maximum-level offer sheet on July 1 that the Magic possibly won’t match, the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics have emerged as leading candidates for the talented forward, league sources told RealGM.

After drafting a SF in this draft and with Aaron Gordon still developing as a 3/4, you have to wonder if Orlando will look to keep Harris.

Doesn't make sense for them to just let him walk, though.  Perhaps the Celts can try and negotiate a sign-and-trade.

My biggest hope is that the Magic don't like Hezonja's attitude, and trade him over to us lol.

Harris is ok but has mediocre work ethic from what i read

I think Skiles will use A.Gordon as a PF.

Create a similar dynamic with Gordon (PF) and Vucevic (C) that Skiles had in Milwaukee with Mbah a Moute (PF) and Bogut (C).

A lot of the things Draymond Green has been praised for at PF this past season are also strengths of Aaron Gordon -- the defensive versatility, the rebounding, good ball-handler and passer but not top notch like Green, transition play, cutting. The only thing really missing for Gordon is that jump-shot.

A.Gordon has great potential as an undersized quick PF glue guy.

Harris got absolutely eaten alive by Evan Turner last season. He can't play the 3. Stay away from nonbo forwards.

I read that Harris had a strong work ethic. Something that he is praised for.

I have seen him play enough times. He pulls Jeff Green ghost act frequently. Not a strong defender

If we want to keep the cap space to pursue another guy, we definitely will look for S+Ts.  Having Wallace's expiring in our back pocket helps a lot with that.

Agreed. Harris signing a max offer with us is probably the worst case scenario for our off-season. (Other than Robin Lopez), because you know KLove is just chompin at the bit to play with Tobias Harris and Robin freaking Lopez  ;D

I would be happy with getting him.  I think we need what he can offer and he clearly has quite a bit of potential.  He's not a guy I've ever loved but he keeps getting better and he's 22.  I like his rebounding.  He's a good fit for Stevens system.  I would like to see him at 4 some for us.

He'd be worth spending on because we have the space and I feel like we aren't going to be able to get a top level guy like Aldridge.  We can bring in Harris and build around him since he's young.

Screw Tobias. I rather have Jeff Green on a cheaper contract than him.

Yeah, which is why the Celts were so high on him last year around draft time.  Still, he's got to show that he can shoot.

I agree that going after a guy like Harris, who excels offensively but struggles to defend the 3 position, is risky.  But as Ainge and Brad have noted, the Celts need dynamic scorers.  The scorers who will be available to the Celts will not be perfect.  They'll have to acquire them and figure out a way to make it work.

I'd be happy with signing him but it doesn't excuse our awful draft

Okay cap people what would his max be? It it's less than 10 Mill with the cap going up next summer,  you'd have to consider it unless you are sold that Young can play SF this season.

Kids only 22, some say poor work ethic, but how much is that Orlando's organization not holding players responsible. Look at Young, he didn't really work out, and now he's added 15 lbs and 3 inches on the vert, and is working on the weaknesses of his game, because he became surrounded by guys with good work ethics and got called out on it a couple times.

I mean if Harris has poor work ethics and still puts up 17,(yes on a bad team) he puts the work in he could get up to 20-22 a game and at 10 mill or less a year, not to bad.
