Reddit? Really?
widespread NBA fan opinion vs bias opinion of Philly-hating Celtic fans who are actively rooting against the Hinkie "plan".  I don't blame anyone here from hoping the worst with Embiid/Noel/Okafor.  If you had any one of those guys on this team, you sure as hell wouldn't' trade him for Marcus Smart, Rozier and RJ Hunter.

Right but NBA fans (and sports fans, and people) are idiots in total, and the Reddit format actively encourages a collective group-think that does the opposite of foster discussion.

I forget where I found this gem, but "people use reddit because they want to see their own opinion reflected back at them by someone else." There are some cool things on r/nba, but they're not the fan opinions.
So it's saying something when the most upvoted comment is that they'd take embiid (setback and all) after towns at #2.

Again, explain to me why Jabari Parker is more valuable than embiid right now...  Embiid was the clear choice ahead of Parker heading into the draft.  Embiid slips due to his injury. Parker gets injured as well.  Shouldnt embiid be more valuable now ?  Seems to me it's the "injured big man" stigma. We assume it's impossible for embiid to get healthy because oden and Bynum didn't.  Embiid reportedly feels pain free and 100% but the scans show otherwise.  We don't even know where Parker is in his recovery right now.  And yet people act like embiid's career is over. Why?  He could play basketball right now.  Whether or not he's at risk of reinjury is the question.

In this case you're asking me to defend arguments I'm not making while ignoring what I am actually saying. Forgive me if I don't indulge you.

Being the most upvoted comment on reddit has no bearing on the legitimacy of the idea -- particularly because if it is something a majority of sports fans believe to be true, it is almost certainly less correct than they collectively assume: if only because their access to information is entirely at the "civilian"/spectator level.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.
