Find a trade for Avery

I think after Portis went to the Bulls, Avery for Taj Gibson works.

It is by no means perfect, but I think I will do it. Taj can play some 4 and 5.

We're just not going to steal any of Philly's bigs. They will just keep them until they get the right price for one or possibly two of them. I think what might work is Smart, Young and Brooklyn 2016 for Noel. That is high, but by my count, we now have something like 8 guards. Next year we can't just draft 6 or 7 more players. We have the assets to overpay for parts that we need. The course that we are on is not going to lead us to where we want to be. As for Bradley, I don't think that Philly is interested in players that have pretty much reached their potential. They're looking for guys with lots of upside.

I think you sign a couple of cheap, athletic bigs like Thomas Robinson and Bismark Biyombo, then resign Crowder. Cut Pressey and Babb loose.  Let Thornton go overseas.

Start out not playing the 3 rookies, and of course Wallace.  Showcase Bradley and Sullinger.

At the deadline, put together Bradley, Sullinger, Wallace, with a couple of 1st round draft picks and try to get a really good SF.  Who knows, if the price is right, maybe the Mavs or Jazz would listen.

I think the best options would be Dieng and Noel, but I wouldn't give up Smart.
We would regret trading him big time in my oppinion.

This *exact* same argument applies to the Celtics and their guards, if not even more so.

Cody Zeller is a solid player, not unlike his brother.  He provides size and skill at a position of weakness for the Celtics, and there's circumstantial evidence (plus minus) that he's good at defense.  I wouldn't be surprised if he could come here and have a similar upswing, with a larger and more consistent role, to what his brother experienced last season.

Bradley is totally superfluous on the roster at the moment, and is not an especially attractive asset to other teams.  Still, he provides some shooting and defense at a position that is relatively weak league-wide. 

Charlotte just drafted a PF / C and also acquired Hawes this week.  Big Al is still around.  Playing time for Cody would seem to be scarce, which is why he's rumored to be on the trading block. 

Seems like a good fit for both sides.

Cody Zeller? Seriously? The only one he plays well against is his brother so I guess if you want some good practices that makes sense. Cody Zeller? absurd

Maybe we can trade Bradley eventually, or deal him as part of a package for a star. For now though I don't want to count on Hunter, Young and Rozier all for rotation minutes immediately.

I think Young is clearly a 2, but apparently Danny doesn't.

I'm not sure about the Rozier kid, but I have high hopes for Hunter that he could turn out to be a really good backcourt mate with Smart. With his shooting and two-way potential, he'd be an ideal fit next to Smart in the backcourt.

I agree, Young seems like a scoring 2 with size.  He doesn't seem to have the bulk or the strength to guard big athletic 3s at all.  If Young could actually develop and get serious playing time at the 2 he might be a good fit with Rozier.

Not so high on Rozier, but all we can do is give him a chance.  I disagree with dealing AB just because we drafted Rozier.  Rozier's FG %'s in college were poor.  I don't see him being a good fit on offense with smart because of his less than stellar outside shooting.  He is a good fit with smart defensively though.  Smart can guard the larger 2's.

The best fit for Bradley would be a contender that needs a starting SG.

Chicago makes sense, because they can have Butler as the starting SF.  A three-team deal where the main parts are Bradley goes to Cleveland, something useful goes to Boston, and Brendan Heywood goes to a third team looking to cut payroll makes some sense if it allows Boston to use cap space to sign a max free agent.

Avery is a glorified backup.  His money would be better spent elsewhere. Use him to dump the Wallace contract and put the team in position to sign two Max guys. Actually, just use those two to do a sign and trade for a Max player.

So why do you think Cody is better than Tyler? And why would we want 2 of these? Maybe if we could combine both stats into one player he may be worthy but both of these guys are really just backups and Tyler is better than Cody.
