Terry Rozier is a beast.  So are our other picks.   Watch the tape. I can't understand how anyone can be upset and want Ainge fired when they haven't even done that.   I can but it's absurd.  That's why Ainge is smart because he does

Inefficient scorer, not a playmaker (averaged 3 assists per 40 IIRC).

And he's coming in in a logjammed position, so he won't get playing time to hell his development.

You know who else is also good and could contribute right away? Sam Dekker, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Bobby Portis. Instead we reached for this dude, who we could have traded sown for and got back some 2ns rounders or something.

This is a horrible pick at fave value. Horrible. Prove me wrong, Rozier, because as of now, I think we wasted an asset on you.

Tom Brady was a short fat kid at one point.

Ans how many 6rh rounders turned into Brady?

Look, he could be a good player, but we have A TON of guards already. We just drafted one who's very similar to him in the lottery last year. There are still players with upside who can fill a need, contribute right away and still be a trade asset moving forward available, but we picked him? The pick just doesnt make sense.

Again, he's not even the best PG available on the board at the time, and certainly not the best player. And even if we really wanted him, we coukd easily move down and get some cash or second round pick, and still pick him in the early 20's.

This pick doesn't make sense. He could be good, but so far, ifs a horrible pick because it doesnt make sense.

People are going to argue that you can't always be perfect, or there's this or that subjective reason, but mistakes like that don't fly in the real world if you are making major decisions every day. Expected a lot more than that.

This is a horrible pick at fave value. Horrible. Prove me wrong, Rozier, because as of now, I think we wasted an asset on you.

TP. You summed it up. And while later picks were better and some may not think it matters in the larger scheme of things, it very well could. Little room for mistakes with where we are, and that was one.

yeah they can definitely play basketball.  I'd go as far as to say they are both top 60 rookies this year.

May start watching some super strange, international sport. Would probably be less taxing.

The way I see it both Rozier and Hunter have the potential to become nice two-way players.

Rozier can score and defend and is almost a completely clone of Eric Bledsoe (only bigger).

Hunter isn't a standout athlete or shot creator, but he's a skilled and versatile shooter (can shoot off screens, can shoot off the dribble, can spot up, has crazy range), he use screens very well, and he has excellent size for the SG spot (6'6" with a 6'10" wingspan) and has pretty good lateral mobility to add to that.  Reminds me a LOT of Richard Hamilton, who was a very good player in this league for a long time.

His biggest knock physically is probably his lack of strength, but many guys have gotten buy in this league (Richard Hamilton, Reggie Miller, Tayshaun Prince, etc) with very similar physical profiles.

If you end up with a pair of guys who end up starting calibre, two-way players, then that's a fantastic draft.

May not happen...but the potential is there for both guys.

Both Rozier and Hunter were both among the Draft leaders in terms of steals too, so they could cause a lot of grief out there.

The problem is that I don't see either of them unseating smart Bradley or isiah thomas.  So we just expended two first rounders on role players/backups.

Yeah, I buy that Rozier will be an NBA rotation player, and for #16, that's not that bad.  Hunter and Mickey have a decent shot of sticking around, too.  So, yeah, on talent alone Rozier wasn't a bad pick.

However, with Smart, Bradley, and Thomas already on the roster, a 6'2" shooting guard doesn't make a lot of sense, even if he has NBA talent.  There were better options on the board.  I would have preferred any of the guys taken in the top-24 over Rozier, due to fit and size alone.

THANK YOU!

No one is actually saying he's going to be a bad NBA player, but it's a waste of a mid first round pick to pick someone that we sort of already have in bunches.

Dekker could have filled a need even if he doesnr have som upside. Rashad Vaughn maybe a guard, but he's got legitsize, shooting and potential so he could have also filled a need. Portis is not a shot blocker but at Center, he could.have also filled a need and he too has upside. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson could fill the SF spot and has upside to be a nasty defender. Justin Anderson would have slotted nicely at our SF spot, either off the bench or staring.

Heck, Jerian Grant and Delon Wright  are both PG's, but would have made more sense due to their size. Rozier is not only a reach, but a selection that just defies logic. Danny better be trading AB, IT4 and/or Smart in Free Agency because this kid is either not going to have minutes or he's going to cut minutes from those guys.

Who's our best guard?  IT4, without a doubt. Why is he our best? IT4 can dribble penetrate and get the defense moving.

Smart and Bradley can not dribble penetrate, they are shooters and defenders. This is well known.

Dribble penetration creates the most space and provides the most open looks.

After watching Terrys tape, its clear he is very quick with the ball and can get into the paint.

Pretty sure that's why we drafted him.

Rozier was key in helping louisville make the final 8. Not much help outside of harrell and blackshear (undrafted)

We picked at 16. Since when is the 16 pick suppose to be a starter?

Yeah, I understand that fans get super into the armchair GM thing-- I do myself-- but let's at least give Rozier a chance before labeling him a bust when he hasn't played a single NBA game.
