I can understand us not getting Philly, New York, or Sacramento to bite, but what price was Charlotte asking for 9 that Danny wouldn't bite? Does anyone know?

We have SOOOOO many assets right now, but if we don't end up consolidating them somehow we're going to end up with several more drafts like tonight. I don't care if it was 16, 28, plus the Mavs pick next year, you have to make that deal, Danny! Winslow/Turner/Booker/Oubre would all have been much better than what we got. Granted, they picked Kaminsky after just trading for Hawes (who is pretty much the same player), so I'm not sure the reasoning they were using tonight.

I would also like to know what Charlotte's price was. Hopefully it leaks out.

probably included bradley and olynyk and a pick swap
but i guess that they would only made the trade with us if kaminsky was off the board

im surprised they didnt take winslow and that he dropped all the way to miami

I'll go with 16, Bradley, Olynyk, and an unprotected future Brooklyn first.

Probably demanded Brooklyn firsts or Smart, neither of which is worth trading for the #9.

Charlotte is in win-now mode.  Whether or not they should be is another question, but clearly their moves over the last two weeks indicate they are.  Kaminsky was definitely the most win-now player available for that team -- and if they liked him more than Sullinger or Olynyk, there was really little to sell them on.

I mostly wonder what Denver's price was.  A rebuilding team looking for a PG definitely could have moved down a bit, still gotten a quality PG, and a couple extra picks out of it.

If that was the case, then he was right to hold onto 16. That would have been outright theft.

I would have given up Smart for Winslow.
