I'm sorry. I thought we had a brain trust of some here.  None of this makes sense.

3 guards? A PF??

Why not a draft and stash?

Good grief...I stayed up for this??

Entire draft was pretty overrated anyways.  No big deal.   Trading into the Top 10 was never realistic.  Nobody wants a mid and late 1st... it's a crapshoot that late.

Can we consolidate all these threads about how bad the draft was?

That would make reading easier.

I can't remember ever being more disappointed  in Boston GM or mgmt .

This has to be a low point in Celtic history

Total waste of a draft night .......

Danny has stocked piled a hoard of mid level picks nobody really wants and bunch of Role players nobody wants .

At some point the team will require star player s or lottery picks to get better.

Picks 2 and 3 for us are good.  I have to think that Rozier was picked up because of a follow up trade.  We are too stacked at guard.

True.

But at that point .....I never realized how invaluable his future picks are .......unless they are in the top five ......then ....we are in the same boat ....no way to aquire talent or upgrade the teams talent.

People say this every year. Honestly shut up and wait until you actually see what they can do in the NBA. There is no debate that  Hunter was a good pick. Second rounders don't matter. The only thing I can see people complaining about is taking Rozier that high. Who did Danny pass up at 16 that is so much better than Rozier ? Dekker literally has no NBA skills. Portis is good but you can't cry over passing up on him. Hunter? Oh yeah we got him anyway. Relax people.Danny did well.

honestly you can't be mad.  This wasn't our draft.  We made the playoffs... we knew we were getting stuck with a dud pick.  Sure, I didn't anticipate that we'd use the #16 pick to take a guy projected in the 2nd round, but it is what it is.

Be glad you aren't a Sacramento Kings fan.   Taking WCS 6th over Mudiay was insane.  WCS is supremely overrated.  I swear that kid and BIyombo are about even.  Mudiay might end up being the 2nd best player in the draft.

At first I was thinking this too, but then the thought occurred that at pick 16 Rozier could have very well been the best player available. What use is there in crying over losing out on Sam Dekker or Bobby Portis, both of whom could flop just as easily as Rozier, who very well could be trade bait mid-season or even used to offload a contract like Wallace for example or with the addition of RJ Hunter lets us trade out Bradley and slide Smart over to SG with IT as the starting PG. Speaking of RJ Hunter, who by the way is a lights out shooter who could help our issue with consistency behind the line, could easily develop into a Kyle Korver type or even better if we are lucky. I actually think Jordan Mickey has good potential as well, man is a defensive beast albeit a bit undersized, but his wingspan is almost 7'4" and he has a 37" vertical leap allows him to play a bit bigger than he actually is. Another plus on Mickey is that scouts report an improved shooting stroke, which is ALWAYS good. I really don't know much about Thornton so I'm not ready to comment on that. Sure I won't say this draft was really anything special but we got some stuff that could turn into nice pieces, particularly under Brad Stevens.

You people seem not to look at what we actually have and feel disappointed that its not what you had imagined. But to think we could have traded up to take someone like WCS who went at 6 is unrealistic, considering the best we have to offer anyone is Marcus Smart and what at this point seem likely Mid-Teens draft picks.

Come on guys keep your chins up. Its not all that bad.

Edit: Also, Upshaw did not get drafted, there is always the chance Ainge predicted this and plans to sign him to a non-guaranteed deal later on this summer. If he called that you gotta give the man props, just saying.

Poeltl.
But the real question is: what PGs will be available in the 22-30 range for us to take 15-17 next year...
Nah, I'm ok with the picks. If one of them 4 or Young become a starter for our team, it'll be profit...
