Oh, you poor baby, did you have a bad draft night???  I really feel for you guys that watch basketball one night a year because you can't stand to watch the likes of the lowly Celtics during the year. watch the upcoming trade machine.  year 15/16, be there!!!!

What an ass.

Is it any different than calling people who liked the draft picks, delusional or a blind Danny fan.

Yes

This. Agreeing with everything someone does is blind loyalty. I'm usually a huge Ainge fan but he blew it today

Really because I've seen just as much verbal abuse hailed from the people who hated the pick calling people who liked it delusional and blind

Well I mean it is pretty blind.

I don't get why there is so much anger. Picking that late in the draft you're just hoping to get anybody competent, forget about need or positional redundancy. It's not like anybody on the roster now is a world beater who couldn't be replaced anyway.

People who wanted to go for the playoffs can't complain now that Danny couldn't do anything to move up. The 16th and 28th picks combined don't have a lot of value. They're stuck on the treadmill because they're in the East and because Stevens has them playing better than their individual talent level.

No. Not being able to move up is not what a lot are upset about. Its picking a consensus late 1st to early second kid at #16. He could have had him at #28. Or used one of our 2nds to move from #28 to early 20's to snag him and still have the #16 to grab someone who can fill a need and still has upside. Instead we reached, mightily, took a shooter who didn't shoot well at #28 and took another PG at 45 when two bigs with upside are available.

Making bad decisions for tonight is why we complain, not making the Playoffs or not being able to move up.

Hozier was projected in the 2nd round in some of the mocks I read.   He's been a Celtic for about an hour... I imagine a lot of people here now think he's untradeable.  Lol.

It was a bust of a draft.  No doubt.   Wouldn't Hozier have been three at #28?  Why not just trade down?  Do something?  There's no way to look at this as a success... but perhaps with time we'll learn to love our back-up back-up back-up point guard.

It's funny... I made threads this offseason.  One where I suggested trading #16 for Anthony Bennett.  Another where I suggested trading #16 for Nik Stauskas.   Reaction was pretty negative.  How confident are you guys that Hozier is going to have a better career than either of those guys??

As predicted, Ainge strikes out again:

Im sorry but stauskas sucks.  Hunter will probably turn out better.  I will not however defend the rozier pick.  This makes no sense with smart it and thomas on the roster.  Overall these picks were redundant.  If we had managed a move to 9 or 10 justice Winslow or Myles turner are there for the taking!  This might be the worst draft we've had since we took Kendrick brown and joe forte both in round 1...

Have you, In all your wisdom, even thought of what goes on behind closed doors??? what if some other organization with a general manager that Danny trusts, and because there wasn't much going on, asked Danny to make the Rozier pick for a possible consideration down the road this year. you never know how stuff starts. I don't see any reason myself for Rozier with the current Celtic roster but just maybe you should think outside the box. or maybe some more negative stuff has shown up on Smart and Danny has decided to put a package together that might cure all. anything is possible, too bad we don't have a fly on Danny's office wall!!!

After watching that press conference I thought this thread was actually about Danny choking. You can see his throat moving around when talking about how "not disappointed" he was to not be able to move up.

So glad we held on to that BKN pick... very nice work danny.

I think that our assets (Which really are picks, because its all bench guys after that) aren't really worth much because unless the Celtics go into real tank mode in the East they will always make the playoffs. But Terry Rozier?? Watching I thought OK he's picking for someone else, but that just didn't happen. This was worse then watching the drafts during the 90s (Hello Steven Hammer, and Eric Montross!) because I was expecting something and got..well...Terry Rozier.

I'm concerned that Danny is putting all the eggs in the basket of a Kevin Love, Robin Lopez, and Paul Pierce scenario. That does not win you the title a second round playoff exit, yes.

No internet connection, atm, so I'm sitting in an INet-Cafe. Found out who we drafted roughly an hour ago.

Have to admit, I'm very underwhelmed. Another point guard? Nevermind my personal dislike for spending your highest pick on a PG, but we already have quite a few players who bring similar skill-sets to the table...
This really only makes sense if we plan on trading Bradley soon, imo.

Meh, I didn't like this draft, anyway. I do like the Mickey pick, though.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Again ....he failed to add. ......elite Talent .....that's need ed to move up .

At some point he has to cash in KO and Sully and AB and Nets picks and get at least ONE player with Star elite skills .

Or ......do,what the NBA is forcing teams to do

Play with a bunch of scrubs and loose on purpose from the get go ......no half hearted attempt .....do like the Lakers ...shut down your best players for the season ...let the FA walk ....

Can we please stop the nonsense that Rozier would have been available at 28?

Stop reading mock drafts.

Guys like Danny Ainge rarely seem flustered — everything is part of a greater plan — but he must have felt like he was dying by 1,000 cuts (or picks) last night, as he watched Winslow, Devin Booker, and Kelly Oubre go just out of his grasp.

He has to be asking himself two things: First, what good is asset collection if no one is buying what you’re selling? The second one is also being asked by some notable fans: How valuable is making the playoffs if it’s the difference between Justise Winslow and Terry Rozier?

Sums it up pretty well for me.

Exactly.  That's my feeling, too, which is why I made this post.

No silver ling in his picks ...they are nearly worthless crap shots tonight.....waste of human effort and time ..

Just horrible picks, no decent trades...

And I'll get Danny does not get even ONE star free agent to sign this summer

More of Wycs all talk .....no action show ....

Let's get a decent GM and plan in place soon.
If we do get rid of Ainge, don't bother applying for the job!

Were you in the war room? Your theoretical nonsense is just that. Look at all the trades that happened and then blast Ainge for not getting in on them. Oh, that's right there weren't any blockbuster trades. You can wish all you want but if a trade isn't there then it's not there.

Ainge called CHA about the #9, and they were asking for the moon. I'm glad he held off.
