My bragging rights prediction is that we never should have made the playoffs.

But I'm hoping we trade for Myles Turner and grab Robert Upshaw at some point in the draft.  But I would also love to see Ainge clear house of our vets that are essentially role players and ensure that we don't make the playoffs for the next 2 seasons.

Don't be surprised if the Celtics trade #16 and #28 for a pick in the low 20s and a future first, but don't be surprised if the Celtics keep both firsts and use neither of them on a center.

Methinks we get Rudy Gay, Terrence Jones and Nerlens Noel...

Maybe some variation of this: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pygjxlc

After trying to move up we fail. However we get the man we want in WCS after he free falls to us at 16 and someday we look back and say how lucky we were to get him...

If the Celtics keep the 16th pick, I think they grab RJ Hunter.

And then grab Robert Upshaw later in the draft.

Not making any predictions about tonight... Although in early April I had Rashad Vaughn ranked as my 13th best prospect when all of the major draft sites had him falling into the second round.

I predicted he would rise and he did rise.  13th was definitely too high but if he gets picked 17th or around there that's a helluva lot better than 45th as some sites and ranked at the time.

Well, I did have a feeling that Ainge coveted a player who would be considered a reach at #16 but wouldn't be available at #28.

I think we hang tight despite Ainge's best efforts.

Oh my god he can see the future.

I predict that for Boston fans, tonight will be another dud fireworks display. Despite Ainge's best efforts, neither he nor any other GM will budge on what they consider fair value in a big trade, so nothing major will happen. Meaning that Ainge might swing a small trade or two involving bit players, contract dumps, and low draft picks, but there will be no move into the lottery, no Cousins, no Aldridge, etc. In other words, no "love" for Boston tonight.  ;D

Unfortunately, I was right.

Love it when I'm right, what happened to Cliff? Definitely worth a summer league gig no?

Celtics make no moves and realize it was a HUGE mistake to make the playoffs this year just to get smoked by the queen and admit we lost 2 years on the rebuild because of it. I just can't say enough how bad of an idea it was to make the playoffs with the stiffs we have, major set back. :'(

Well we did say bragging rights, think I nailed this one!!!

A huge round of applause to all who made a nonspecific prediction about how the draft would suck and have now returned to claim victory.

I won't be sober by the end of the evening.

Donaghus is a thinker and a scientist, and I respect that. He is rolling out a testable hypothesis, but I have concerns about potential conflicts of interest that have bearing on this prediction.

Where are you Donaghus? Did you get yourself a bloody mary and some huevos rancheros?
