Bobby Portis. His motor is KG lite.
Bobby is my guy too.

My reasons:
- very good defender. Very mobile for a 6'11''. Comfortable on switches 1-5. Good in the PnR. Better defensive rebounder than his stats - he was often guarding on the perimeter and not in a position to rebound
- versatile on O. Good jumper and face-up game.

Overall, a two-way player who can play 4/5. Great mobility, other than that good but not great at everything. Still some room to grow.

I am not concerned by the logjam at 4. I think either KO or Sully is gone this summer.
This -- however I don't think it necessitates KO or Sully leaving.  I could see Portis playing more 5 than 4 in this league.  Would rather have someone of his size taking Sully's minutes at center than KO or another PF

Kelly Oubre.
+1. Underrated because he only played 21 minutes per game, but check out his per 40 stats:

18p 50 2p% 36 3p% 72 ft% 2orb 7drb 1.5ast 2.2stl .7blk 2.3to

Add in his 7'2 wingspan and you have a very serious prospect.

At 16 you have to take the BPA. Portis, Oubre, and Dekker are my choices for that range in that order.

Kelly Oubre.

I love that you picked a guy that Kevin O'Connor hates:

Hey Mike, I don't want the Celtics to pick Kelly Oubre. I think he has bust written all over him, if he's picked in the lottery. Oubre certainly has talent and he's incredibly athletic, but he's an awful ball handler and that's something I consider a "fatal flaw," if you're expecting him to be anything more than a complementary player. He does have the tools to defend at a high level, but I question his mental makeup, since often times we saw him fade on that end in a Jeff Green kind of way. Oubre could turn out to be another one of those, "he's solid, but imagine what he could be" type of players."

Sticking at #16 would be a real bummer.  It's mostly a crapshoot in that range.  MIght as well just trade down and get something else.

I don't know. The realistic "trade up" range for the Cs is 9-12. Doesn't strike me as all that much better of a crapshoot.

This thread has me excited about some of the players that could be available at #16, should Danny stay put.

My only hope is that Danny doesn't trade the Brooklyn picks to move up a bit (I'd be fine with trading those picks for an established player, though).

I don't think Ainge will trade the BKN picks unless he absolutely has to in a really big trade.

I'll go with Oubre.

I think Bill Self's system at Kansas is difficult for a freshman wing unless they have an elite 3 point shot.  McLemore played well there, but it was his second year with the team and his shooting fit that system.  Wiggins and Oubre both struggled with Self's offense.  There was no room for them to drive to the hoop and the offense is very nuanced.

I would be happy with RHJ or Portis but I'm beginning to think that Vaughn has star potential:

"1.16 points per possession on spot-up jumpers.
1.02 points per possession coming off of screens.
.951 points per possession as a ball-handler in the pick-and-roll.
1.33 points per possession in no-dribble isolation situations.
That last number is off the charts. No-dribble isolations are the most difficult—and ill-advised—shots in the game, yet Vaughn buries them with frightening regularity."

This predictive chart also has him among the top of all prospects at getting to the rim:
http://deanondraft.com/2015/04/17/which-2015-prospects-get-to-the-rim-the-most/

He's also only 18 years old.

Came here to post this Portis or Rashad Vaughn for me. I think. Bobby Portis reaches David West/Paul Millsap impact level without too much needing to fall into place.

Rashad Vaughn would bring much needed size to our backcourt. Balances out our back court with another scorer to compliment Smart and AB and spell IT stopping him from having to do all the work. This guy was a freshman.

Finally I'd be happy with Sam Dekker. Think he really could be a big shot taker/maker. Smart player and wants to play in Boston.

Jeff Green is a fair comparison for Oubre-- long athletic forward with a good but not great jumper, good but not great defender, weak off-hand, inconsistent motor. But Oubre has upside to be much better than Green if either his jumper, defensive focus, or handle develops better than expected, and what's more, Jeff Green isn't a bad outcome at all in the mid-first. We at CB love to trash on Green, which is partly because we picked him #5. But the fact is that he's a good player and most mid-1st round picks will end up considerably worse than him.

Portis and I probably could talk myself into Oubre.

I love RHJ but I think we could trade up from 28 or use a future pick to get him. Especially with Portland looking to move their pick for 2 seconds and the Rockets trying to shed salary dangling Jones and the 18th.
