Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
Sources: Clips offering bench guys to gain trade exception to pay Pierce, but If Celts could get Love - Pierce is in play for Boston return.

Please tell me this is journalist Woj and not "League Sources tell Yahoo" Woj.

I can believe sources are telling this to Woj.  The Pierce thing, though, seems pulled out of thin air.  Like they remember Ainge being hot for Love and have heard he'd like Lopez and just plug Pierce in there to have a new "Big 3".

I saw this. You add those 3 to this roster, because you can get them all without giving up anyone I think that's a top 3 team right?

Smart/IT4
AB/?
PP?Crowder
Love/Sully
Lopez/Zeller

I like that a lot. I think Kelly is gone at some point.

You'd have to get someone to take Wallace's contract, but no other trades would be required.

That doesn't strike me as a particularly strong selling point for either of the three guys.

Obviously this is all up in the air because we know that DA is going to work his absolute hardest to pry DMC away from SacTown.

How about

Greg Monroe
Kevin Love
Paul Pierce
Avery Bradle
Marcus Smart

And If you sub Thomas in for Smart you have Monroe who kicks but inside, and we actually would have four shooters around him! And I can finally live with Avery's limitations and he would be a great complimentary player here.

I wonder whether Pierce is the source of that?  Seems to me like he'd probably be looking to create a market for himself.

Just for the sake of discussion:

How about if you add in a Smart+picks/Noel trade?

actually that's not bad either

Love first option, Monroe 2nd option, Pierce 3rd or you can even put Bradley at 3rd option. Pierce gets more rest...he has like what 1 or two good years left and a role player. I would like this as well

Opt-out sets up Love to sign extension w/ Cavs, but teams want crack at pitching him. Another suitor promising to be aggressive: Phoenix.

Doesn't move the needle at all, but that's just me. Noel would just be playing behind Love and Lopez.
