  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
McDonough, like Ainge, is not content to be middle of the road.

I like that about him. If he actually makes this move, expect the Morri to be next.

Bledsoe is a good, not great player.  Definitely makes some sense for the Knicks but the #13 pick does not do the Knicks all that much good.  Anyone they get will not contribute at the level they will need for a few years if ever (assuming they want to put players around Melo and compete now).

Compare that package to Bradley and the Brooklyn 2016.  That pick has more value and I think the Knicks would trade that one next year for another good player.  Isn't that really close or better than the PHO package?  Bradley would be good next to Melo.

I suspect that the Knicks are more interested in the player than the pick but I think the Celtics should be in play for this and they don't have to give up Bradley AND Sullinger plus #16 AND BKN-2016 to beat Bledsoe + #13.

I love Bledsoe, so I think this is a good trade for NYK. Even more so if they are as infatuated with Lyles and Kaminsky as they appear to be.

For Phoenix Im not so sure. They need a star, but is what are the odds whoever they get at 4 will be better than Bledsoe? seem pretty slim to me.

Great point. This is the sort of sad thing about the draft. Its super exciting for a couple weeks leading up to it, then you realize over the course of summer league, camp, and regular season that most of these players will amount to.... nothing much.
Celtics fan for life.

I don't like this trade for New York. There is a big decline right after that 10th/11th pick. That 13th pick has much lower value. Bledsoe is a really good player but I wouldn't pass up on the type of talent NYC has available to them at #4 for Bledsoe. I don't think Bledsoe is a good fit offensively for the Triangle either.

On the plus side, Bledsoe does make them more attractive as a FA destination.
Bledsoe + Melo + FA would create a strong group to build a team around.
