Ugh. Lakers are going to add cousins and aldridge. At least that gives us a better shot at love

We have the secret weapon: Phil Pressey.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

If the Kings don't absolutely love the offers they're getting for Cousins now, they should just wait a year.  There's three years left on his deal, and it only gets better as time goes on and the cap goes up.  No reason to rush this.

But alas Karl is impatient and Cousins headache rap climbs exponentially every season..

Then fire Karl then.

Exactly, just fire Karl. That's the simplest solution here. Cousins and his camp were against Karl right from the start anyway

My guess

To Lakers: Cousins, Landry, 6th pick
To Sac: 2nd, 27th pick Randle, Clarkson, Young, Hill

Lakers select: Mudiay
Kings select: Okafor,  Jonathan Holmes

Lakers lineup
Cousins
?
?
Bryant
Mudiay

Kings lineup
Okafor
Randle
Gay
Mclemore
Clarkson

The Kings aren't giving up the sixth pick.

Nor are they taking on Nick Young's contract.

It's completely feasible for the Kings to get a Melo-type haul in several young prospects, potentially a draft pick or two, and the ability to dump a bad contract.

i think if the lakers get cousins and sign Aldridge, you might see Portland as a real threat to sign Kevin Love.

It's looking like nobody is interested in coming here. We're not even at the bottom of anybody's list.  :-X

I honestly can't see the Kings choosing the Lakers deal over ours because if you break it down we can offer the better package

Value of trade pieces
Randle = AB
Clarkson= Zeller
#2 pick= KO, 16, 28, 2016 brk, 2016 celtics, 2016 mavs, 2016 wolves, Tayshaun prince TE for Landry?!!!

Does anyone disagree??

Because If they want to compete now they would take our trade. They could keep AB, Zeller, KO or package them and move the picks for Lawson/ faried and use some to move rudy gays contract
Lawson is not commanding much trade attention they could get him for a steal

That would be really great. I'd love to see K-Love play with that roster.

Love in a Blazers uniform just seems right to me. Like he belongs there.

Yeah, I disagree. Because that 2nd pick gets them Okafor while our pile of c- assets haven't gotten anyone's attention.

People need to face it, we are NOT a free agent destination.
Players don't come to Boston as their first choice. We need to acquire these guys through the draft or trade, and tanking accomplishes both of those.

Look at the Lakers now, I'd they get Cousins and sign one of the other PF free agents they're back in title contention and were sitting here banking on Sully getting in shape and KO getting more aggressive.

All because of one draft pick.

I know that a lot of people have concluded that because SAC took WCS, that the trade is off.  I look this differently.  How about a big 3 of Russell, WCS, and Randle for SAC.  All complimentary positions, all ridiculously young.  If I was SAC, I would do this.  They have done exactly nothing with Cousins.  How could it be any worse with this core?

Ty Lawson just said he's going to Sacramento after the Musiay pick. Cousins isn't going anywhere. They're going to try and make the playoffs again with Ty, Mcelmore, Gay, Cousins, and WCS.

Btw, I'm calling it that the WCS/Cousins pairing is going to be a disaster. Cousins is a C, and there's no spacing between those two. He's also going to have a hard time guarding smaller fours.

Could there be a possibility that the Cavs and Portland do a double sign and trade?

Love to Portland for Aldridge in Cleveland?
