Yes, Lakers, please suit up two post-up heavy 30-something guards with a million miles on their knees.  Have them combine for 45 shots a game and freeze out all of the other players on the roster, including whichever potential franchise big man you draft this week.

Perfect.

OMG this would be heaven for me bahahahahaha.

I think it's a good bet Kobe doesn't finish next year due to injuries. It's time to remove him from the equation.

If he leaves Miami (and I don't think he will), I think he would rather go play in the Triangle offense with his friend Melo. The triangle is perfect for an aging wing who is not a great shooter. It would prolong his career, and with another piece, the Knicks might be legit contenders.

I'd like to see him out there on the Lakers

It is about TV contracts , big names , star power in names........LA has to keep the BIG names to keep the TV people off their backs .

Lakers can't use no name guys but so long , no matter the skill.......

LA fans want big names ......Steve Nash , etc ......Kobe .....even if they re washed up .

Great place for him .

That's it exactly. I recall reading somewhere that the Lakers get more money from their TV deal when the ratings are higher. So this, if nothing else, would make the Lakers exciting and attractive to fans in LA.

This is definitely not a good idea for them but as a Celtics fan, i say go for it.
Wade + Kobe + Randle + Love + Okafor with Jordan Clarkson off the bench?   Lol, defensively that would be a riot.

They should fire Scott and hire Tibs. Then you might have something.

HaHa TP just for the imagery - that would be one of the worst defensive teams in recent memory.

Plus Wade, Kobe, Randle and Love constantly being out with injuries...

The funniest part of all this is that based on recent Laker's history, it's sounds like a lock to happen haha

To be fair to Wade, he did average 21.5 / 4.8 / 3.5 last year on 47% shooting.

He may not be the offensive monster he once was, but I wouldn't quite call him washed up yet.

Plus as much as a Wade + Kobe combination would be horrible (in terms of defense and injury risk) at the same time that's a combination I'd never want to play against.

Wade and Kobe may be arrogant, but they are probably two of the toughest guards I've ever seen in my life.  Nether of those guys is going soft on an opponent or backing down from anybody.  That's no Lebron / Durant "go soft when it counts" due there.  That team will NEVER quit.

No idea what the Lakers are trying to do . . . . I guess they are set up w/ a great draft pick and just want to acquire whatever high profile FAs possible.

Can't envision Kobe really being a factor again, unless he's option number 3 or so on a contender. His days as the alpha dog on a contender are done. He could theoretically be on a contender with alot of help around him.

DWade can help a bit but they'd need a lot more to really get serious.

I imagine Rondo dribbling the ball for 20 seconds, while Wade and Kobe are losing their minds...all the time, Byron Scott is screaming "No Three Pointers"--!
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

I'm not really that concerned with age of those two guys, more so with fit.

At this point in their careers neither Wade nor Kobe are very strong defensive players or super athletic players.

Neither is really an off-ball scorer either, but need the ball in their hands to create offense for the most part.

I mean I guess you COULD use wade as a the primary ball handler, and then have Kobe play off the ball - Kobe is a pretty capable catch and shoot guy, and he does have three point range.  Then have Dragic at PG as another catch and shoot guy.

That could work to some extent, but that defense would be horrible with those three guys.  You'd absolutely NEED to add a defensive man or two in the front court to make it work, and you'd need some form of interior scoring.

Randle may need to get traded out though, or come off the bench.  No way he can start alongside those three guys.  Defensively, that would be an absolute no-go.  If they could add a guy like Tyson Chandler, Joakhim Noah or Omer Asik at center it could get interesting.

But would Kobe really going to ACCEPT not being the main ball handler?

Also even if all that DID work out, would that team actually be very good?

Really not liking the Laker's methods on building teams if any of this is true.

I am personally loving this [proposed] method the Lakers are using. If they win another championship (or two!) before the Cs win do, I am not sure how I am going to continue on with my life. Please, Danny - build a dynasty...

Wade and Kobe will never play together.

They will take turns playing every other game and see if either one can make to the end of the season healthy.
