If we use a first round pick on someone that will not play this year due to prior contract over seas, essentially making them a draft and stash, How does it affect the cap and does it create a cap hold?

I don't think that the team plays a player if they are playing for an other team. If you look at Philly salary for this year, Dario Saric is not on there.

No effect. No cap hold. We just own rights.

We would hold his draft rights (like we do for Colton Iverson), but there would be no cap hold next season (although there would be a hold until they sign their overseas contract)
I'm bitter.
