Would you give up AB + 16 to get into the top 10 ?

#8 Detroit = Appear to want to win now after trading for Illyasova, Bradley could start for them, they are rumored to be shopping the pick

#9 Cha   = Just traded Stephenson, they are in need of another solid SG for relatively cheap

#10 MIA = With or Without Wade, they need help at the SG spot. If Wade stays , he needs someone to take mins away and keep him fresh, AB would be a good 3rd guard next to Dragic or Wade. If Wade leeaves, they will obviously have to replace him .


Of course it all depends on who is on the board , but if one of Stanley Johnson, Myles Turner, Cameron Payne,Hezonja or WCS was sill on the board, I think I would give up AB+#16.

Bradley's contract is going to look relatively better in the following years. While I foresee little improvement in him, his trade value in the long run will be greater than the deal being proposed at the moment.

Depends on where and who is available.  It really comes down to, would you trade a known commodity in Bradley on a decent contract for an unknown on a rookie one.  Most of the time I'd have to say "no". 

The only players I'd trade Bradley straight up for would be Towns, Okafor and Russell.  I'd say not enough information on Hezonja, Mudiay and Porzingis and a definite maybe on Winslow and WCS.  Other than that, I don't see anything special in the rest of the guys that you can't get at #16.  To me you take Portis if he slips by Atlanta at #16 or Kaminski or Anderson if not. 

Maybe Chicago will trade up to 16 to get Anderson since they seem to like him and throw in McBuckets who didn't get a whole lot of usage and Anderson would basically be taking his spot.  Then at #22 take the BPA, maybe Looney, Grant, or Vaughn is there or trade to push the pick into next year.

Apparently I value Bradley more than some.  We could do this trade and not end up with a player any better than Bradley, just younger, and lose a pick to boot.  Or we could luck out and catch a draft sleeper but unfortunately, the former is more likely than the latter when it comes to drafting 19 year olds.

I like trades that are two picks for one better pick.  Picks have uncertainty, good and bad but Bradley you know is a pretty solid player who is still improving.  It seems to me Bradley + 16 should get something in the 5-7 range, not 8-10.

AB+16 for a top-8 pick you have to at least think hard about. I value AB but his contract is merely good, not bargain. And in the top 8 you are getting either WCS, Winslow, Porzingis or Hezonja-- all very exciting prospects with significant all-star equity.

If those four are all gone, I wouldn't swap AB+16 for #9 or #10 though. Stanley Johnson doesn't really excite me due to his rim-finishing woes and his bullying approach to scoring.

His problem isn't mechanics it's repetitions and confidence.  His jump shot will get there.  His biggest asset is defense and it takes years before refs allow you a little advantage as a defensive player to do your job.  look at Tony Allen and how he changes the dynamic of his team.

Nobody is asking Bradley to become a star but you can't gamble a 24 year old proven player and a 16th pick for guys that are available at 8,9 or 10. 

I suppose it matters who is available at those picks but it's a risky gamble.

And to say that Bradley has no upside is false.

I interpret "Zero Upside" as meaning that Bradley has hit his ceiling and there is no way he improves.   I disagree.  I think it's highly likely that with experience and health Bradley will be a better, more valuable all-around player 3-5 years from now.   

But I would trade him for a top ten pick if there is a player available that DA believes has star upside.

Here's the homer in me but no. I'm expecting a decent return if AB is going with some other pick(s) to get anywhere from 8-10. Now if we're talking 6-7...that's a slightly different story. I don't think these top 10 teams really want/need an AB-type player though. I feel as if they're either set with their starter or are going 4 deep with guards.
