P.S.S.  I in NO way mean to take away from Kerr and the current coaching staff!!  This just reminds me of Tubby Smith winning a title with talent recruited and groomed by Pitino and then NOT giving him any kudos!!!

That small ball adjustment that the Dubs did that pretty much won the series, that won't be done with Mark Jackson.

He did set the culture, but Kerr took it to another level. He should have been the guy bathing in champagne if he wasn't a jerk to his staff.

Amen to that. Just compare what Jackson did with what Kerr did and it shows you the front office made the right decision. Kerr wasnt a good GM but looks like a very good coach (similar in that way to McHale), I guess being coached by Jackson, Wilkens and Pop helped a lot, as well as his championship experience as a player, something Jackson doesnt have.

And NO coaches in the NBA are difficult to get along with or are in any way ego maniacs, right??  Pitino was and is PURE CLASS and always treated EVERYONE with total and utter respect.  Just ask that little waitress that he spend some quality time on the restaurant floor with while married.  Pure class!!  Google that if that went over your head!!

Like everyone said, Jackson pretty much took that team as far as a mediocre coach like him could the previous two years. He seems like a good players coach but anytime he faced a good coach he couldn't handle making the right adjustments. He would just say the old "play hard" cliches during time outs.
