Hi guys. I was curious and I thought you would be too, so I googled until I got tired and counted up the picks from every 1st round mock draft I came across dated May or later. There are fifty-two altogether.

Some fun observations
1. Poor RJ Hunter. No one has any clue where he's going. Along with Hollis-Jefferson, he has the dubious honor of being tabbed for the Celtics more than once at both positions in the draft.

2. Turner and Booker are generally the highest rated prospects that make it to us. Stanley Johnson and WCS, who I know are entertained as pie-in-the-sky opportunities sometimes in the forum, were never considered by anyone I found.

3. With Upshaw's reputation seemingly in flux over the last month, I think this is telling us McCullough is the favorite for the later pick. I was surprised to see McCullough coming up so much, not as a matter of judgement but only because he hadn't been on my radar. I know some of you guys really like him, so this is promising.

4. Frank Kaminsky usually slotted above us, but also sometimes below in the mocks. No one seems to think we'd consider another 7-foot outside-shooting upperclassman.

5. Consensus is pretty weak but that's not at all unusual. At this point in the off-season, when I've done this in the past for our mid-round picks- the crowd consensus has pegged our pick about half of the time (recents hits were Jujuan Johnson, Fab Melo, and Avery Bradley. Misses were Nicholson, Nogueira, and last year I can't remember but I THINK it was Warren)

Wow, great work.

I personally don't mind Bobby Ports as long as we give him playing time to develop, meaning we'd have to trade a big.

I love what I read about him about his motor and how he plays hard on both ends of the floor. Cleveland is showing you that energy and hustle and all out effort can win championship games, so if we'll have that with him, we're on the good side.

As for the #28, if Upshaw is still there, he should be a no brainer. I personally think he's worth the #16th pick assuming that his heart issues are addressed. Him at #28 is great value.

I think all of us browsing the board right now are basically all three of those things.

Dont think celts take portis at 16.  MCcullough on the other hand is a real possibility at 28

At 16 Danny is hoping someone like oubre drops. Or will trade 16 and 33 to move up to grab him

TP.  I've been looking at a lot of mocks too and saw very similar results with smaller, more recent sample. It's a lot of work, so thanks.

Hearing that NBA is all over the map on RJ Hunter. 3 point shooting wasn't great last season until the tourney. I didn't see any recent drafts with Upshaw in the first.  McCullough has been linked specifically to BOS as somebody they like. Once you get past the top 24 names you're picking for upside and he's mentioned as a guy that would be in the teens but for the injury. Also, most think Trader Danny's going to be very active and aggressive in the trade market. We along with NY are one of slots where things are expected to happen to affect the rest of the draft.

I think I feel about the same that you do. I don't mind these picks... I'm not thrilled about either player, but that has more to do with the fact that I'm not thrilled about picking 16th and 28th. Value-wise, I certainly don't have anything bad to say about Portis and Upshaw at those slots. As for my personal taste, my real favorites in our pool are Hollis-Jefferson and Harrell. I'm ready to get excited about McCullough, too.

One other thought is i think if you look at the newer mocks in your sample Booker is moving into the top 10 because of the need for shooters, his recent tryouts, and his unexpected athleticism at the Combine.
