every mock draft there is we always are set to pick up 2-4 PF in the draft. I guess we have a glaring hole in the 4
noticed that as well.  I don't get why every site thinks the C's need more PFs when we need talent at every position but PF is in need of the least reinforcement right now

I've been thinking the same thing.  If Kelly Oubre is sitting there at 16, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Celtics draft him.

I guess the writers see that there are 2 PF FA's for the Celtics this off season. I guess they just assume that we don't have any left, all while forgetting that we have KO and Sully.

Also if the draft goes this way, trading IT to the knicks to get 4th pick and take back their contract of Jose calderon would be great obv. Thats trade may or may not work but thats the beef of it.

Also I'd like to see Myles Turner on this team. I've been consistent with that and think he will be a good to great player.

During our playoff push so many people said "Hey who cares if we pick 16, I mean whats the big deal between 9/10 and 16, I want to see the team make the playoffs even though I know they will lose".

Theres a big differance.

If the draft really was to play out as this draft predicts I would love to see the Cs pull off the following.

KO + #16 for #12.

With the #12 the Cs land S Johnson. The Jazz would land KO who could be a very nice complimentary 3rd big to Favors and Gobert. At #16 they could still get a solid bench prospect to with their deep young roster. This mock would still have Dekker on the board.

Then

#28 + #33 +45 for #24 Harrell

Adding Harrell to replace KO would change this teams defensive dynamic. While not at ideal rim protector due to his size I am confident he will be a + defender in the NBA.

Huge overpay for 12.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

Ko and 16 for 12 are you guys mad?

Last time we had the 16th, we combined it with a 2nd rounder to move up to 13....which was olynyk. That was the Dallas pick.

16 and 28 should be enough to get in that range, if a future 2nd is really needed so be it.

Somehow, KO has lost a lot of value during the last 2 weeks. He didn't play much I agree.
Most seriously, I have no idea what's going on in this forum with the trade up throwing the farm for #4, or giving IT to go #8. For what is worth, just go to realgm and you will see that other teams don't overvalue draft pick like some of the brain washed C's fan do here.

The mock drafts could be showing that we are taking best player available that just happen to be all PFs
But from the latest mock draft I would like
16- rondae hollies Jefferson or bobby portis or trey lyles
28- Christian wood or RJ hunter
33- guirellmo hernangomez or aleksandar vezenkov
45- George de Paula or mohammadou jaiteh

I like the fact that the latest draft express at least has us taking a chance on international players
Even though ainge has been known to prefer not to draft internationally

I will agree with everyone that I proposed a high price in trading KO + #16 for #12. I set a high price just based on the return. If it comes down to keeping #16 and drafting portis or essentially trading Portis and KO for S Johnson I think most of us would agree that we would rather have Johnson. This is not a knock or a undervaluing of KO, I like his game but I still stand by the fact that his ceiling will be as an offensive bench spark 3rd big. Where as Johnson should be a solid starting SF for the next 10-12 years in the NBA.

As a hole I would be very happy if the Celtics 4 picks in this draft and KO netted the Cs S Johnson and Harrell. If the mock actually plays out where they are available at #12 and #24 then maybe the Cs are able to obtain these player and either keep #45 or gain a couple future 2nds. Either way I view both those players as great long and short term additions.

If this happens, can you say log jam at PF/C?

Portis, McCullough, Zeller, Wallace, Sully, and KO.  This doesn't even include any FA targets like Monroe, Aldridge, etc.  Someone's going to have to go.
