Porzingis up to 3, Mudiay at 6.

Portis and McCullough for Cs.

" With their second pick in the first round, the Celtics could simply look to swing for the fences for the highest upside player they can draft. At 6-foot-9, with long arms and soft touch, McCullough is talented enough to get drafted much higher than this, and Boston can afford to be patient and develop him."

Sounds like a Danny value pick if ACL is improving. D-Leaguer until 2015-16.

When I look at these mocks, I don't just look at who the mocks have the C's selecting but which players would be good trade up targets if the board fell like this.

It looks like Stanley Johnson and Myles Turner might be two reasonable trade up targets. If we can't move up from the 16th pick to get one of those I would be happy with Portis.

If we try to move up from 28 then the way this board is going the best trade up targets would be RHJ and Justin Anderson. If we could end up with RHJ and Bobby Portis I would be happy. Two guys who really fit the way the C's want to play defense, aggressive and able to switch on other positions.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

They have Stanley Johnson falling to 12.  If that happens, the Celtics need to do what they can to move up.  He's going to be a very good 2 way player at a position of need.

Johnson at #12 looks like the steal of the draft, that's very strange he goes down to 12. Anything we are missing from his work outs?

I pretty much feel the same way and would like a Portis and RHJ combo.

I also looki at the trend on some of the names as a reflection of what these writers are hearing from around the NBA or seeing with their own eyes.  When a guy like Booker, who has a valuable skill, shows up a lot better on athletic skills than anyone expected and is doing well in workouts, it's going to show up in the mocks just like Payton's rise last year.  Another name is WCS who is all over the place in the mocks and that seems to confirm that NBA execs have wildly differing opinions of him. A shooter like Booker could fit on any team. A D-big like WCS won't.

I actually think he's one of the "safer" picks in the draft. You know what you get with Stanley. Great NBA body. Very tough. Aggressive offensively. Shoots it better than you think. His ceiling just isn't particularly high because he lacks explosive athletic ability and struggles to finish at the rim. But he'll be in the league a long time.

IOW, not much star potential and potential's big even if often in the eyes of the beholder.

If the draft really was to play out as this draft predicts I would love to see the Cs pull off the following.

KO + #16 for #12.

With the #12 the Cs land S Johnson. The Jazz would land KO who could be a very nice complimentary 3rd big to Favors and Gobert. At #16 they could still get a solid bench prospect to with their deep young roster. This mock would still have Dekker on the board.

Then

#28 + #33 +45 for #24 Harrell

Adding Harrell to replace KO would change this teams defensive dynamic. While not at ideal rim protector due to his size I am confident he will be a + defender in the NBA.

If johnson turner and wcs are at the 9-12 range i would make moves for them. For more than one.. johnson should be the no. 1 target

Rumor is the Nets will not let MCcullough pass 29.  The hated Lakers also like him at 27.

Celts have a ok chance to grab him at 28 and Danny likes him

I don't think Johnson has superstar potential but I can see him as a multiple all-star.

I remember when he was #5 after russel and mudiay and winslow behind him and he's been falling ever since. I haven't heard anything bad about him that wasn't already known months ago.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I'll volunteer my services to get it done. Whatever it takes.

I think he measured out shorter than expected at the combine.

every mock draft there is we always are set to pick up 2-4 PF in the draft. I guess we have a glaring hole in the 4

noticed that as well.  I don't get why every site thinks the C's need more PFs when we need talent at every position but PF is in need of the least reinforcement right now
