Charlotte pick

I just read somewhere that the hornets would be willing to trade # 9 to anyone willing to take Stephenson.  Was Stephenson just a bad fit in Charlotte or is he really that bad?    Is it worth giving up Bradley for a rim protector and a headcase?  This trade makes us a better matchup against bigger teams.  I would try to draft WCS with the #9 pick.

I have to imagine there is more to this, but if true, how could Danny not get in on this? I know you are including Bradley and Sullinger in your deal, but if Charlotte really is willing to deal their #9 to get rid of Stephenson, then there really is no reason to.

If you look on the hoopshype mock draft it says it where Charlotte picks.  We would have to give up something more then just #16.  I doubt they would just take Wallace's expiring  deal.

I don't think moving up 7 spots in the draft is worth giving up Sullinger, Bradley, and taking on Stephenson (who looks like an awful fit in Stevens' offense).

Stephenson has negative trade value, and Sullinger and Bradley individually are valuable enough that they shouldn't be traded except for a 1st round pick.

So basically, the Celts are giving up way too much in your proposed trade.

I think Bradley + #16 straight up for Stephenson + #9 makes a lot more sense.  Even that might be too much to give up.


Stephenson is basically a more talented Evan Turner with a lower floor but a higher ceiling.  I think he could work in Brad's system, but he and Turner don't make sense on the same team, so they'd have to dump ET.

I would gladly take Stephenson and #7. CBS could revive Stephenson, and we could get WCS out of it. In addition, with the cap set to go up big time in the next few years, we can deal with Stephenson's contract.

No need for us to give up that much though, #16 and some salary filler would do it.

They have #9. It might not sound like much, but that's huge. #7 could net us one of Winslow, Porzingis, or WCS.

It's an easy way to move up and make the team better.  If Lance could revive his career here just giving up the #16 and filler it could be a franchise changing trade.

The HH mock doesn't make any sense.  You don't attach a high first to a $9MM one year contract to get rid of it. CHA should draft the best shooter available and put up with Lance for a year at worst.
