I mean, I'm all for it, because that more than likely means Philly ends up taking one of Okafor or Towns over Russell, which consequently would make either Noel or Embiid available in the near future.

I really just posted this because I thought it was funny since the Timberwolves organization has a history of favoring point guards in the draft.

Philly could swap their pick with NY and get another pick + Russel anyway.
Minny taking Mudiay might help the Knicks headache. It's also a possibility that this could happen.

There's zero reason to take him at #1.  If they really like him that much, they should trade down because I'm sure a host of other teams would love a shot at Towns or Okafor.

They have little trade down possibilities.  If Mudiay is really that good, the Lakers might take him with pick#2 and Philly almost certainly would with pick #3.
