It's sad to see how ruined Rondo's image is. Even the Heat is afraid of signing him;
Quote
Would Miami Heat chase free agent Rajon Rondo? It is highly unlikely Miami will ever reach this juncture, but if Goran Dragic does not re-sign, the team will be in scramble mode for a new point guard.

Even if Dragic leaves, Rondo does not seem like the kind of mess in which Miami wants to be involved. There is a significant difference between the knuckleheadedness of Lance Stephenson and a guy who basically quit on his team during a playoff series. Palm Beach Post
Horrible how they claim that Rondo left the Mavs during the playoffs. They didn't allow him to play :-X

I would definitely give him another chance in Green, but most people would be against that move  ;D!

Rondo is past-tense. He does not fit, nor is he needed at the Cs.

There is more chance of the Cs bringing back Big Al!

And they didn't let him play why? Because he was playing so hard he was completely indispensable?

I didn't say that Rondo played well for the Mavs during the playoffs, because I agree that his performance wasn't subpar.

If I'm not wrong there is a big difference in "leaving" a team and not being "allowed" to play, which I was indirectly trying to point out as it says something about a person's character ;D!
Rondo didn't leave the team himself, because the Mavs didn't allow him to play, hence that I think it's horrible that the media seems to claim otherwise and thereby giving him a reputation of a person that "quits the team" if things aren't going his way ;).

Let him come back at the League Minimum in that Pressey role. ;)

Bringing Rondo back would be like implanting a tumor after a successful recovery from cancer.

I wonder what team will sign him
The 2 major players before  - Lakers and Knicks
Probably won't sign him due to not fitting or risk overpaying him

Maybe rockets take a gamble on him and get him on a discount
I mean they took in josh smith which I assume was a piece to attract rondo to there

I would hate it if rondo decided to join the Kings
As the Kings offered the best trade deal for us but declined after rondo was disinterested in resigning with them

Mavs didn't let him play probably because of his disagreements with coach Carlisle

But also he didn't fit well into the system
He was a ball dominant, pass first, second, third PG that couldn't shoot
Mavis system is based on ball movement, everyone except Tyson chandler can create their own shot and playmake
By having rondo in, the ball movement stops and their offense becomes predictable
This doesn't play well with their teams strength of having multiple playmakers

Defensively he has clearly declined and become less disciplined by taking more gambles

Rondo is a good player but he needs to be in the right system for him to work
Unfortunately for rondo not many coaches are willing to play the way rondo fits best in

We saw doc use rondo to his best
And Stevens needed to fit rondo into his own system to take care of the teams star as it is a star ruled league where coaches can get fired by not catering to the team's star player

At this point Pressey's probably the better value.

Perfect analogy. Soon Rondo will be playing at an NBA wholesale price tag.

A few points:

1. The Rondo hate is pretty nuts. He won us a lot of games. A simple, "I don't think he will come back" I can understand but some of these comments make me a little sad as a fan.

2. WAs he hurt this year in Dallas? I would like to know the full story of why he wasn't playing at the end.

3. Its all about money. I think if Ainge had said, "Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. it, i'll just give him the max" he would still be here. Ainge was right not to. But if someone gets him for under 10 mil a year and he bounces back he will be on a good deal. I just have this bad feeling that next year or the year after he could again be a top pg and on a really friendly deal somewhere.

4. Its hard to say that our improvement after RR left was due to rondo sucking. I mean, we wee sucking as a team and when Rondo was traded it was kind of a rallying call for the rest of the team to step up. It reminds me of when Pitino left and we played better. Although I guess I'm making the opposite of the point I want because I really like Rondo and really don't like Pitino.

5. A lot of things would have to happen to make a Rondo return make sense. But I do hope Ainge reaches out to him. Even though he hasn't played amazing lately I still think he has a super competitive mentality and he's not someone I would ever bet against. He was getting like 13 dimes a game for us. Say what ever you want but almost no one else could do that.

I'm still guessing he ends up in LA.

Bringing Rondo back would be like implanting a tumor after a successful recovery from cancer.

Sadly true. I doubt anyone in the organization wants him back.
