Willie Cauley-Stein is SUPER overrated. I know he is not an offensive guy and that Kentucky had alot of talent but he never dominated. He is one of the most athletic 7 footers on the planet yet he only managed 6.4 boards and 1.7 blocks on the college level. I mean make all the excuses for him that you want, but taking him 4th would be a massive mistake. He has remarkable athletic ability but i keep hearing that he is a great defensive player. Now a days people see a really good athlete and label him a "defensive player." People have to realize being a great player is much more than athleticism. Larry bird was a good defender despite physical limitations. Willie does not strike me as a guy that has the fire, passion or the IQ to be a game changing defensive player. As for his offense.... forget about that. I watched almost every Kentucky game last year and I've seen this guy miss layups. I mean the guy is 7 feet tall and is a word class athlete, yet he can't even finish a non-dunk against college players with half of the physical gifts he possesses ? He isn't good offensively, he isn't a great rebounder, he has a low skill level, he has a relatively low IQ, doesn't play with extreme passion, and is overrated defensively. The only thing is that he is a unbelievable athlete. I am one of those people who look for athleticism in a prospect, trust me, but you have to take skill level in to account to. NBA teams have to start taking guys who can actually play basketball, not just really good athletes with "upside"
