Most guys don?t want to play with Kobe. He gets in this thing where he doesn?t pass and then overpasses and then trying to get triple doubles every night, so we know you have it?

?That?s why I think it will be a while for the Lakers to get good because they?ve got no stars. I would be surprised if (Kevin) Love goes there.
?

This is why I think the c's have a better shot at landing Love than LA does. Yea sure Kobe will be gone soon, but they don't have any other established players. The c's don't have a star either but have just as much cap room and more assets to get star players here IMO. Plus the fact that Love seems to enjoy the city having visited here last summer and taking in the scenes by himself during the playoffs this year .

If we can get a rim protector (Jordan, gasol, wcs) Love would fit in perfectly in Brad Stevens system, which love has complemented more than once .

Plus his good buddy IT will be recruiting him hard

As mentioned on the Windhorst/Lowe podcast... everyone says Love is leaving the Cavs.  All those same people say he's going to the Lakers.  I don't believe Boston has a better shot at signing him.  Here's hoping he stabs his Laker heritage in the heart and joins the team that injured him, though.

Do Jared Dudley and Kevin Love have some connection I'm unaware of?  He seems like a pretty random guy to weigh in on this situation.

I just don't see why Love would choose the Lakers. It's basically the worst of both worlds: the team has no talent like the T-Wolves, and also has Kobe who will be a 10x worse version of Lebron.

The only reason he would be leaving the Cavs to begin with is because he cares about his career and stature in the league. There's no reason to go to LA other than being from there (which may not even be a big thing to him for all we know.)

That doesn't necessary mean he'll come to the Celtics, but I'd be very very surprised if he ended up in LA.

But Kobe's only got one more year. Love becomes the bridge player for the franchise.

And famously spurned the U of O to play for UCLA, a fact that Blazers fans have never forgotten.

And the Lakers have far more resources and a far better track record than the Wolves.  And the #2 pick (I know Sota's got #1 but that's not really relevant to when Love was there).

I have no idea.  I clicked on this thread solely to find this out, but alas, nothing.

Do the Lakers even want Love? I know there's the whole "win one last ring with Kobe" thing, but that's clearly not going to happen. And the Lakers will have Randle paired with Towns or Okafor for a cost-effective young frontcourt, leaving more room for max-level wings or guards.

Love must see that and wonder what his experience will be like. The only way I see him going to the Lakers is if they trade their pick this year for a grizzled vet that doesn't play PF, which I don't think exists (as Aldridge plays PF).

I think Love will come down to Boston or LA and I think there is an equal chance with both. (unless he is fine going to Portland in which case maybe Aldridge for Love sign and trade).

Also I appreciate former eagle Jared Dudley having Boston's back by trashing LAL.

I'd be surprised as well. I don't see the appeal of the LA Lakers right now. They are 20 win team and they have an aging superstar (who no longer helps his team on the floor) on his way out of the league (rebuilding process) and who is a nightmare to play with.

That is a really bad situation.

It'll be amazing if LAL can convince a star like K-Love to join them in such a disastrous situation.

I don't see why Boston doesn't have a good shot at landing Kevin Love.  They have a  team that just reached the playoffs.  They have a great young coach and a capable front office.  They have cap space this summer and probably again next summer.  They have a ton of future draft picks that can be used to add more talent by trading or drafting.

Everyone assumes he wants to go to the Lakers because he's from there, but the reality is he's not from there.  He was born there and played one season for UCLA, but he was raised in Oregon.  Plus, the Lakers are a mess.  Their front office is incompetent, their coach stinks, and the team was one of the worst in the NBA.  At this point, I don't know why anyone would want to play with Kobe.

Last summer, Love certainly seemed very interested in the idea in coming to Boston as he made a trip to the city when there were rumors of a possible trade.  In Boston, he will be the man.  He can play his game, rather than be a stretch 4 like in Cleveland, and they will be a playoff team.

Love is not my first choice, but the Celtics need to improve their talent level and he may be the best they can get.  I'd love to see them trade up for WCS.  Perhaps, Sully plus # 16 can get him.  WCS would pair up beautifully with Love.  A front court of WCS, Love, Zeller, and Olynyk is one I can get excited about.  They would still need to add a scoring wing to contend, but there are possibilities that could develop over the next season.
