EDIT: i just read looney has a degenerative back and hip problem. poor guy. but this explains the drop.

Yeah, Ainge has no choice but to ship out multiple guys. Don't get too attached to Smart, Thomas, or Bradley or any of the new guys.

The Celtics trade Marcus Smart, Avery Bradley, Isaiah Thomas, Jared Sullinger, Tyler Zeller, and both future Brooklyn firsts for Demarcus Cousins and Carl Landry, giving Karl an instant starting lineup that made the playoffs, subbing in Rudy Gay for Evan Turner.

Team is:
Rozier/Pressey
Hunter/Young
Turner/Crowder/Wallace
Bass/Jerebko/Olynyk
Cousins
If you think Cousins is unhappy now, he'd go nuts being traded to a team with those players.  a completely inexperienced backcourt and a set of mediocre forwards

C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Here is why I like the Rozier pick

It's not his talent, what he's done in high school and college, or what he may do for the Cs.

It's the acknowledgement that the Cs are not close. We're not at a place where we should take a player that "fits a role"

Instead this pick is a best player available move. That's where the Cs have to be right now if we aren't able to make trades. I don't know if I agree with the talent evaluation, but I completely agree with the assessment of where the team is and the strategy to take the best player on the board.

I also like the message to the players, the fans, and the league that no one is unavailable. i think the Cs have to be willing to move any of their current roster to improve including Smart, even though I am a HUGE fan.

So while I may not like the player, I like what it seems to indicate about the front offices perspective on where the Cs are, where they need to be, and how they are going to get there.

Not a serious proposal.....

Roy Hibbert opted in with Indy.  They are likely to move him.  Not sure if there is a match, or a want, here in Boston.

Celtics on the clock!  Take Upshaw or Wood Danny.
