Wolves are taking Towns. No doubt about it

Lakers imo will trade down for Russel or Mudiay. Cant see them taking Okafor
why?  they need offense and a center.  he addresses those issues.

what I think is more likely is that they trade that pick for an established player to put with Kobe so he doesn't waste one of his few remaining years waiting for a rookie to develop into something.  Think of something similar to the Wiggins/Love trade but I think LA will get someone of lower quality than Love since they have little to send out with that pick

So ...

Towns to MIN
Okafor to LAL
Russell to PHI
Mudiay to NYK
Porzingis to ORL

That's my best guess at a top 5.

I could really see WTCS fall a ways in this draft.

Good for Minn, it'll be fun to watch Wiggins and KAT.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

DA pulls off a trade for Cousins no one will shed a tear about Okafor or Towns on the Lakers. We can always pray.

Hahahaha Knicks.

Philly gets the 3rd pick again, too.

Yet another big man goes to Minnesota to waste the first half decade plus of his career.

Hopefully one of the guards or wings move up before the draft. I'm still holding out hope that the Sixers will choose one of the bigs and put Embiid or Noel on the trading block for us.

I think they'll take Mudiay.  At least that's what Larry Brown said after they consulted him on the matter.

Okafor seems like a good fit with Kobe. More of an NBA-ready player. At least offensively. Give LA a 1-2 punch to build their offense around.

Russell and Kobe play the same position. Awkward.

Mudiay is very impressive but it sounds like he'll need a few seasons to put things together. Not a good match with an aging Kobe Bryant.

All you pro tankers. The Knicks did a good job of that this year, and they fell BACKWARDS!

You realize this isn't a particularly good example to cite considering two of the three worst teams got top 3 picks, including the worst?

If anything, the argument could be made that if you're going to tank, you might as well stick to it throughout the course of the whole season and guarantee the worst record. The Knicks very well could have been in Minnesota's spot had they not won a bunch of meaningless games towards the end of the season.

Dang, when do the 6ers get the picks from LA and Mia they didn't get this season?
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

The best years of Kobe's career have come when he's playing off of post scorers.

Heading into next year the Lakers will likely have two highly touted big man prospects known in large part for their back to the basket game.  Not a terrible spot to be in.

Use the cap space to upgrade at PG and SF and they could be alright.  Up until Kobe goes out with an injury again, that is.

so uh, Sactown gets 6th pick...

can we in ANYWAY possible, trade the entire team (except Smart, hopefully even keep Crowder) or picks for Cousins

in return Kings can use whatever pieces they get + 6th to move up to top 4? or even trade to top 2 to nab either Towns or Okafor

They get LA's next year if not top 3, Miami's next year if not top 10.

Im the only one who thinks Heat, it would be just the Celtics luck.

I thought of that, too, but it had to be the Lakers.  It's like they're the league's default setting in the lottery, lol ;D.

Meanwhile, I'm convinced that the machine has been programmed so as to not accept our lottery balls.  I believe the official policy is to make sure that ours are made of lead ;) ::) ;D. *facepalm*

OooOO... Dat Philly team gonna be so naughty.

DeAngelo Russell, Wroten, Saric, Noel, Embiid... Plus cap space to sign a couple max contract guys.

Wouldn't they have to save cap space to eventually re-sign those players?
No.  You can exceed the cap to re-sign your own players.  And in a couple years the cap is 100 mil anyways.

Max contracts, however, are determined by a percentage of the cap.  And the luxury tax remains very punitive.  When it comes time to resign all these picks, there's really going to be no advantage for Philly.

What Philly can do is try and sign top free agents the next two years and then trade or not resign those guys when they have to resign Noel, Embiid, etc.  But what top free agent is going to sign in Philly in the next two years.

If all these Philly picks turn into mega-stars, they'll essentially have the same window as OKC of two or three years before the luxury tax will force them to break the team up.

Mike

Towns could be SCARY next to a rim protector like Dieng!

Forget about Dieng.  What about Wiggins and Lavine.  Still, I want to see a pf/c rotation of Dieng at center, Towns at pf, and KG backing up both of them.  6th man of the year for The Big Ticket, lol ;D!
