As a bit of an aside, I like that poster done by a laker fan on the front page of the blog that says, "Nick Young is bae."  How long is it going to take before everyone knows that bae is the danish word for poop, ahaha ;D? With that in mind, it might just be the perfect way to describe both Young and the Lakers, lol ;D.

If OKC gets a top 3 pick and takes Russell we might as well give up.

Westbrook/[Waiters]
Russell/Roberson/Waiters
Durant/Morrow
Ibaka/McGary
Kanter/Adams/Collison

Augustin's the backup point guard.

He's a free agent, no?

Not that it matters. Either way that team would be a powerhouse if just one of Durant or Westbrook stays healthy for a full season.

The TWolves, Pacers, and Jazz would make me have to shut up with my conspiracy belief for a year
REALLY hard to believe in a conspiracy if you understand how the lotto works.
I know this has been debated many times over the years, but the league makes these owners pretty [dang] rich, so the idea that they would shut their pie holes to toe the company line doesn't seem that far fetched.
Money talks bull**** hit walks, the greatest PR disaster the NBA would have faced would be their number one guy (Lebron) tarnishing their image, amazing how the Cavs win the lottery 3 out of 4 years.
The league is bigger than 3 or 4 owners being butthurt that they didn't win the lottery in those years.
Guess what they receive a little Christmas bonus in the mail down the road to smooth things over, happens all the time.
Again... if you understand how the draft lottery works, it's REALLY hard to believe in a conspiracy theory.

As for the idea that they are all willing participants, it's hard to buy that when you realize that the value of these individual businesses are tied heavily to the star power on the team.

There are reps from each team present during the lotto... as well as 5 members of the media.  So they'd have to consistently buy off the media as well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg-zwcX1sU8

I am fully aware of how the lottery works. I have seen the behind the scenes footage before.
I stated that the owners are fully compensated for going along with the program.
Who chose the 5 media reps, was it the league?
The Bucks sold recently for 550 mil, the Hawks 750 mil, what star power do those franchises have , little or none.
Their values have gone up ten fold over the last decade, just by being part of the show.
Let's get Dan Gilbert's son to be a pawn and have a feel good story about those picks, what a lucky little kid. ::)
The league and there spin doctors are laughing all the way to the bank.
Have heard that theory before... that the league is basically the WWE and everyone is in on it.  The league fixes the lottery.  The refs fix the games.  The champions are decided.

Fine.  If you're the type of person who believes that, just be thankful that the league put Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen on our team in 2008 and fixed the playoffs so we could face off against the Lakers and win a championship.  Hopefully at some point the league will decide to give Boston another push.  If you subscribe to that tinhattery, might as well just accept and embrace that the NBA is full-blown fraudulent sports entertainment and enjoy it.   I don't understand how anyone can take that kind of stance and then act like their favorite franchise is the victim of some grand conspiracy.  If everyone is in on it, then everyone is in on it.

The Boston Celtics are top 5 in national popularity.   There is incentive for the team to be good.  There is incentive for the media to write about them.  It's illogical for the Celtics to be intentionally slighted.
I never said that it was rigged against Boston, I said that it is rigged to maintain and increase profits throughout the league.Boston got scheduled for a tonne of national games that season, had the big 3 on covers of season previews, they were being hyped up prior to the season.
The league had nothing to do with putting KG and Ray on the team.
It is a known fact that they try and extend playoffs series whenever possible.
Players have even joked about it over the years.
Read the Jordan rules , Barkley quote about the Bulls - 76ers series.
How many times do road teams have there best defenders get whistled with quick fouls to take them out of the game.you think that is just a coincidence , please.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?autoplay=1&v=5MhmGyZ7KF0

Your buddy Bill Simmons called it.

The Lakers were hyped so much with Nash,Gasol,Kobe & Dwight, what would happen if they didn't even make the playoffs?

It is just a big farce, the phantom calls, makeup calls.
How many times have people spoke about Lebron and his lack of fouls being called against him, the guy is one of the most physical players out there and for years only has 1 or 2 called against him, coincidence , please, the only reason the guy gets called in the playoffs is due to fact that they at least want to seem somewhat unbiased in their national TV games in front of a bigger audiences.
Even Larry Bird was all over the league in the 84 finals about game 6 and how they wanted to extend the series for maxuim exposure.
Nothing that they do to get that almighty dollar surprises me.
I just roll my eyes.

Why did Rasheed Wallace get called for all those T's , the guy was not stupid, he knew what their game was, he was just making a point to these frauds , sorry company men.

Go Celtics, get that star player to get those star calls, sell those jerseys and bring home banner 18 ;)

I don't watch the WWE because I know it's scripted.

So if someone thinks the NBA is scripted, why would he/she continue to watch? Especially if, unlike WWE fans who concede that it's scripted and contend that it doesn't take away from the entertainment, he/she complains about the game's fixed outcome?

if i have to cheer on some other team's lottery chances, make it minnesota. since the celtics have their first round pick next year. it is top 12 protected, otherwise a second rounder.

i want the wolves to be improved just enough to be 13th in the lottery.  :)

Hopefully LA Lakers lose their pick.
Azzurri | Juventus | Boston Celtics | Kentucky Basketball

It'd be nice for the Wolves to win... I'd love to see Towns or Okafor mentored by KG. Watch the cHeat somehow win it...

This is so rigged.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.
