I wouldn't be so mad at doc, after all we have him to thank for our 28th pick this draft.

He had little to no faith in his bench except crawford. Plays  after plays for the starters. They ran out of gas.

Rockets just too deep in the end.  Smith has been a very good pickup

Yeah, what the hell happened to Crawford?  He looked terrible in game 7.  Has he been in some sort of a playoff slump?

Is it really that surprising that the Clips lost?

Wasn't Houston a top seed?

No team should lose a series up 3-1 then 3-2 at home with a 19 point lead in the third quarter.  Doc ran his starters to death and lost just like he did in 2010 in game 6 in the finals.

I think Doc is a better coach than some here think.  I'm better with them loosing for chris paul (spoiled star in the vein of lebron and wade) and blake griffin who is a punk.
good job by old friend kevin mchale

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Simply amazing to see so much hate and garbage directed towards a guy that won us a championship.

He had basically no bench. They beat the Spurs, CP3 got injured and Crawford and Barnes played like mushrooms.

Blake Griffin is now a certified franchise player and D Jordan is the number one defensive big man in the NBA.

Josh Smith hitting fire a few games in a row and the Clippers bench shrivelling up resulted in a poor three game stretch.

They'll sure their bench up and they'll be a juggernaught next season.
The West is going to be soooo stacked for sooooo long.

OKC
GSW
Houston
Clippers
Memphis

hopefully we can snag a Western conference star or two after they see how easy Lebron has it over here in the East.

I think Doc did well with what he had this season and they ultimately lost to a very good Rockets team.

Yall' need to put down the haterade.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

The same bench that helped them beat the Spurs and same bench that allowed CP3 to rest while they went ahead in the series. I don't have any hate for Doc, but the excuses are cheap for this series..you could definitely use the lack of bench in the Spurs series and it would be totally and completely justifiable, but this team was up 3-1 with a lead in the 4th qtr of G5 against Houston. That's inexcusable on the team as a whole.

They got cocky and lazy (fatigue can play a part with them being run into the ground), but the lack of a bench resides on Doc the GM..he basically screwed Doc the coach.

I hate the Clippers as much as everyone else but I think people are overrating them in this thread. Paul has always been overrated, Blake made a big leap this year and has proven his all-star worthyness, Deandre Jordan is a great rebounder and shot blocker but can't produce on the offensive end aside from dunking... For that to be a teams "big three" isn't going to get you far... I mean aside from that Crawford can flat out score, no doubt, but other than that Reddick? Barnes? BBD? Spencer Hawes?

They just don't have a deep team and the Rockets cast is much better. Tough to lose after a 3-1 lead, but the better team won the series in the end.

Some classic Doc Rivers (man I hate that guy).  http://sports.yahoo.com/news/after-a-collosal-collapse--the-clippers-are-back-on-the-brink-043705162.html

Quote
"We took too long to get over the intoxication of beating the Spurs," Doc Rivers told Yahoo Sports late Sunday afternoon. "I never thought we gave Houston the same focus that we gave the Spurs. Even though we were up 3-1, I never felt that way.

"We stepped back instead of going forward."

Quote
"Once the ball started rolling down the hill, we couldn't stop it," Rivers told Yahoo Sports. "And I thought the ball started rolling down the hill in Game 5. I thought that was the one game we just didn't perform. It's like we felt like we had something, like we had other games. I kept trying to get us to [understand], "We only have one home game.'

"It's different when you're up 3-1 with home-court advantage. Now, you have two home games. When you have one home game, you can't [bleep] around with games.

"…They got a little confident and then obviously we had the Game 6 debacle."

What a smug ****.

Doc Rivers could be an OK Gm if he stopped trading for players that beat his teams during the mid and early 2000's.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

The Clips are a great example of how important the 2 and 3 positions are in today's NBA.

They have the best PF in the league and a top 3 PG, and they lost to a team that really can't defend either of them.

I don't care what happens as long as someone beats Cleveland.

THIS^

I don't get it... the have stars! I fact they have 3 if you want to count D Jordan as a star.

The fact is they have 3 near max contracts and a bunch of aging, less than talented, I don't really care, has been roll players.
Big Baby? Turkoglu?, seriously! Barnes, Austin Rivers, Hawes.

It's not a team...it's Lob City

Well, we almost lost Round 1 to Atlanta in 2008 BECAUSE of Doc changing his rotation...Luckily, Ainge or somebody had him change back---and we won....But 2008's Championship was almost blown by him and him alone.

This x 100

And Doc is the reason the Celtics lost game 7 in 2010.  He changed his rotation for game 7 and barely played the bench, leaving Nate Robinson on the bench even though they had trouble scoring and scoring was the reason Nate was brought to Boston.  He also left Tony Allen on the bench when Ray couldn't hit a shot to save his life.  No, Tony couldn't hit a shot, but Tony would do what Tony always does, drive to the basket and draw fouls and make an impact on defense.  I really dislike Doc as a coach!
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

Correction:  We won a championship because of the Big 3.
