FYI Everyone who agrees that a Turner and Upshaw frontcourt would be deadly gets a TP from me.

I've said in many posts that it is possible to trade Avery Sully, Evan Turner, KO, or our ace...IT; in order to get what we need out of this draft. Enough having role players on the team, or having AN "EQUAL OPPOTUNITY" scoring team, in Ainges words.

Get rid of the players that we will not need in 1-2 years and take a chance on higher level talent. By getting rid of Avery and Evan Turner, or others; will allow us to play hard every game but come up with a lotto pick. I am not suggesting we give p[layers away and tank. But we have to take the long view with this. Next year the East will be better and our chances of making playoffs drop. Also BKN's pick will be valuable because it will most likely be in lotto or top 10.

We should use our 2nd rounders and late first on BPA, even if thats Rakeem xmas or Cliff Alexander and or etc.

James Young and Marcus Smart will be coming back next year and probably much improved. If they do come back next year and are improved then we may have the best young core in basketball...if we have Turner and Upshaw. Also please do not forget that next years draft is covered with sf and pf. Ben Simmons, Jaylen Brown, and Brendan Ingram are all high profile sf's.

Our team could have a young core of:

Marcus Smart
James Young(assuming his defence allows him to play)
BEN SIMMONS, bRANDON iNGRAM, jAYLEN BROWN
Myles Turner
Robert Upshaw
2nd rounders

We could also have IT, Crowder, and veteran (undisriable) contracts that we take from teams for picks....ala Zeller Thornton

I'm tired of being the weakling and tired of not being the best. Turner/Upshaw would be a gigantic frontcourt that protected the rim and spaced the floor. Also it looks like Upshaw may have gotten better at free throws, that alone is huge. Both players have flaws that are correctable. MT with his gate and running is correctable. Upshaw's offcourt problems are also correctable, no one knows the actual drug or story, but people can get better and actually gain wisdom from mistakes. If Upshaw can be a wise young man then I hope we get him........and Turner

Answer me this? If all this happened would you pay to see how our frontcourt played against Philly's?

Pass on Miles. Runs funny. Something tells me he's headed down Greg Oden path. Upshaw with the Clips pick would be worth the gamble.

Turner needs to be medically evaluated closely to see why he has that gait.

As for the idea, I'm firmly on board. In fact, the 3 guys that I would absolutely love to have, and feel it would be reasonable to acquire with some slight moving up, are Turner, Upshaw, and Anderson.

Assuming a good medical report (Turner) and a good interview (Upshaw) I could co-sign for this. I'd be looking to move from #16 to #11/#12 range, and from #28 up a few spots to ensure we get Upshaw (#20?). Should be doable by utilizing #33 and future picks. Something like:

#16 + Memphis pick (2018) for #11?
#28 + #33 for #22?

If Turner wasn't there but Stanley Johnson was, I'd be happy too.

nice share TP

Until he corrects those weaknesses, it is a risky proposition.  Gluts take a lot of deep bending exercises to develop like squats, deadlifts and lunges sometime not easy for tall guys.

Keep in mind, for him to share this report, means it benefits him as he can literally make millions off this report or lose them if he drops in the draft.   I trust the Celtics doctor more than this report and I would want him looked at by our staff.  Agents try to obfuscate things when they can.

if we got these guys in the draft without having to trade up, I'd be pretty satisfied.

as for the rest to unload everyone else, not so much.

eddie20, a good post, as usual. thanks for the link and a tp for you. it was interesting reading. i worry, however, that this might boost turners' stock and put him outside the celtics range, even with a trade.

I would love Turner, but I don't see why we have to trade guys like AB and ET when Turner could still be there at 16. I don't see the need to trade ET and AB, especially because if Turner is able to contribute, he fills a huge hole for us and would make us much better.

Pass on Turner and especially on Upshaw. I know people are dying for rim protection but they are not the answer.

The more and more I read about Hezonja the more and more I wish we were in a position to be able to pick him. I think he is going to be a great NBA player and he would fit with what we need on the wing right now.
