Trades:
1) AB for to the Jazz for 12
Jazz are supposedly interested in AB and I've seen this rumor floated around
2) Gerald Wallace and Dallas Pick for Heavily Protected 2nd
Cs trying to move Wallace's contract, rumored to move it with a first
3) Trade #16, ETurner and the 2016 Nets or Celtics (Whichever seems more fair) for #5 from Orlando
Cs interviewed Winslow so definitely interested, Magic might bite thinking they could get Ben Simmons or Jaylen Brown

Draft:
5: Winslow
12: Turner
28: Upshaw
33: BPA

Signings:
1) Kevin Love - Max
Kevin Love seems to love Boston. He's spent a lot of time here on days off. Publicly said he does not hold any grudges against Boston.
2) Jimmy Butler - Max
Would fit perfect in our system. Chicago could possibly blow it up and Jae Crowder is a close friend of Butler.
3) Sign Jae Crowder (Anyone wanna take a guess at this?)

Line ups:
Smart/IT
Butler/Young
Winslow/Crowder
Love/Sully/Olynyk
Turner/Zeller/Upshaw

That starting line up has great defensive potential, great shooting, floor spacing and finally rim protection. Would be perfect for BS system. Then our entire bench is full of spark plugs and great role players. BTW I traded Wallace so we would have enough to sign both Butler and KLove. oh yeah and our oldest player would be 27!!!! AND WE STILL KEEP 1 or 2 (Depending on which pick gets Orlando to bite) Nets picks! I'll send this to Danny now.

If you guys wanna fix the trades COMMENT
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK

It's a nice scenario. I'd be very pleased if this or sthg similar happened that would get us two all-star caliber players and young prospects at the 5 at a relatively low cost.

It is of course highly unlikely that any of this happens (let alone all of them together).

But what I find most problematic is KLove. Many people thing he is ready to depart Cleveland, but I think he has a good situation there: they have a multi-star contender, guaranteed to be a top 3 seed in the East for the predictable future. Bottom line is, that in the unlikely event he decides to leave, it will be for another very strong team.

This would be nice. If they somehow can get the the #5 and Winslow is there, they got to take him.

My Love for KLove has faded.

Love isn't coming here, no way he departs from CLE after they made the ECF without him.

As for getting Winslow, that would be great but I don't see it happening.

Getting Turner and Upshaw would be really great though. That would solve our length issues and give us two shotblockers who can spread the floor. I have a weird feeling about Upshaw though, feel like once he gets in workouts he's going to start shooting up the boards.

This doesn't really make much sense to me. I actually think the opposite is true. If they would've lost, then he would've been like, "You know what, I could have been the difference." On the other hand, them continuing to steamroll opponents without him should have him thinking how much they didn't really need him and how much better utilized he could be in a system geared towards his strengths. It makes perfect sense. Especially when they lose in the Finals and it's very obvious that Love was needed as someone to space the floor. Cavs didn't need him to beat the Bulls, Lebron and a hobbled Irving was all they needed, but they wont face a challenge until they face the Western champs.

I agree...that pick will have to be pried from their cold, limp hands.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

In reality, the Bulls would have beat the Cavs with a healthy Gasol, who is a much more accomplished player than Love. Even if both were healthy, I still might give the edge to the Bulls since rebounding is what killed the Bulls in a couple of those games.

As for Love, I don't know how much he'll want to keep playing with Lebron. He is clearly third fiddle on Cle. I think it's likely he'll find a situation where he can be a co-star and still compete in the playoffs each year.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I predict that we'll go hardest at DeAndre Jordan. He's become the best defensive big man in the NBA and has owned Dwight Howard for much of this series. Regardless of his free throw woes, he's a juggernaught on the defensive end.

I think Danny will build his sales pitch as making DeAndre 'the man' on our team and then put shooters around him. Regardless of our big men, you can guarantee that Danny goes after shooters.

Would Danny Green at SG and Khris Middleton at SF work for us? AS long as we can get D Green at a reasonable price, it's a nice idea.

Smart
D Green
Middleton
Sully
Jordan

We're still obviously searching for a top 10 NBA player there but we've got a very solid foundation  and appealing team to a free agent or disgruntled star to join our ranks.
How about replacing Sully with Love?
I think in the East that's a pretty sure thang to reach the ECF.
The West is going to be brutal for the next few years, we just gotta hope Brad Stevens can work out a way to beat those Western Super teams because they'll be around for a while.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Cockeyed optimism.
One can dream but trades is all I see us getting better with this summer. I hope to see us and Denver work together to become better.  We have a faint hope at Middleton if the Bucks don't get the arena. Aldridge is the only one I see moving in the west and Milsap in the East.

If am Orlando, I am not interested at your proposed offer at all. You dont trade a Dollar for 4 quarters, and in that case, you only offer 2 quarters.

Getting Love is a big stretch as well. I dont think its impossible but I also think it is much more likely he stays with the Cavs or goes to LA. I feel like both scenarios are much more likely and we have an outside shot at best.

Finaly, the Bulls will not let Butler walk for nothing. Never. If they blow it up, they will look to trade Noah and maybe Rose and Gibson and build around Butler. Why on earth would they let their most valuable asset walk for nothing. It makes no sense at all. Its like suggesting that the Celtics are going to dump smart for nothing.  ::)
