Celtics have been busy on the interview front at combine, already talking to approximately 11 players.

Celts have interviewed some top 10 candidates, including Stanley Johnson, Justise Winslow, Cauley-Stein. Good sign they may trade up.

Another intriguing C's interview subject - Washington 7-footer Robert Upshaw. 1st round talent marred by off-court trouble.

One note about who the Celtics interview. They submit indication of types of players they are looking for, and NBA decides who they talk to.

Jay King @ByJayKing  ·  1h 1 hour ago
That said, Stanley Johnson on knowing Brad Stevens since sophomore year of HS: "He was just cool. He's always, always super cool."

Hollis-Jefferson said he's meeting with the Celtics but hasn't yet.

Jay King @ByJayKing  ·  28m 28 minutes ago
Justin Anderson met with the Celtics too.

Justin Anderson said right now, the Celtics and Bulls are the two teams he's scheduled to work out for, shortly after combine.

Christian Wood too per Murphy

So it's safe to say we're targeting bigs that can protect the rim and athletic SF's that can defend.

Not really. Upshaw isn't exactly an athlete, but he can provide interior defense, like Turner can.

Cameron Payne (Murray State) says he's ultra-competitive & could bring leadership to the Celtics. Says he loves the team's apparent culture.

Really happy they decided to use interviews on some of those top 10 guys, particularly WCS.  Now I get to be hopeful for another 6 weeks!

I think everything is in play this summer. Moving up, making a splash during free agency, making a trade for a vet, etc.

For his size he is an athlete. He is not quite at drummonds level but has an edge vs tyler zeller

Smooth athlete. Turner mobility is a concern. He doesnt jump very well either.

I compare him to dakari johnson in terms of athleticism but cant run as well

Danny i think moves up (but wont give up the farm) for wcs, johnson. Or i could see him reaching for players with baggage but just what the doctors ordered (wood or upshaw)

Tyler Zeller went to college for 4 years and Dakari went for 2. I think Turner has to grow into his body more before he is a finished product, but even then IMO he can still contribute.

TRIBOY..I believe you saw his workout video and I'm sure you know his measurements, just not athletics yet. I'm wondering who you like in the draft. I'm hoping that we trade Avery (hopefully that will be enough, good contract good player) and maybe etc  for MIA or INDY pick and grab Myles Turner. Then draft Upshaw.

I think the people we need to trade: Avery, Evan Turner. Next year is full of good sf's (Simmons, Brown, Ingram , and etc)

Well one thing we are chock full of is leadership, what we need is talent and I'm not sure Payne could offer much of that.

Think that we could find what he brings easily enough without using a first but if Danny disagrees and picks him, I'd be happy to reevaluate this stance.

Jay King said C's met with Tyus Jones, Kelly Oubre, and RJ Hunter.

Also, Ainge isn't at the combine (he's sick), so Stevens is handling all the interviews, which I find an interesting side note.
