I think if we don't trade our picks in some blockbuster, combining 16, 28, and another asset (player or pick) to move up to the 10-13 range to draft him would be a smart move. I like him, his work ethic, and his fit. I'm less concerned about him being a gangly (un-athletic) 19 year old then most though.

Agreed. Plus when we trade for Faried this summer they'd have a nice complementing skill set

I always thought Myles is the perfect complimentary piece to our system. Addresses a need while harnessing the skill that makes our offense so potent (3pt shooting bigs) However, being an unproven commodity (like all prospects) there is always a risk that he doesn't pan out and he didn't shoot the ball that well in college. I think Stevens could make him a contributor regardless, I see him falling to #12- #16, maybe even sooner.

My thing with Turner has always been my concern for what his weird movement means for future injuries.

Also, saying that bigs don't need to be mobile evidences a certain lack of understanding for how the game is played today.  More than ever, bigs need to have lateral mobility in order to adequately defend the pick and roll as well as contest perimeter shots while still recovering to defend shots inside.

That, by the way, is Kelly Olynyk's biggest issue on defense.  Lack of lateral mobility.

DraftExpress has a pretty solid article about this issue, which makes it sound like less of a concern.  In fact, it sounds like he is currently on a PT-like regimen to help correct the awkward gait.

I don't think his issue is lateral mobility, he just runs funny in a straight line. He's just raw and unpolished. He needs work on his defensive fundamentals... but he's 19, nod an old Olynyk.

No it's best not to trade up. Patience is key. FA has a lot of Centers and next year's draft is deeper at center. If Turner is there at 16 consider it but Woods, Upshaw, DJ and maybe Holmes (if he measures 6'10) are decent as fall back options.

That was an interesting read.  TP for posting that.  My biggest concern with Turner is that he gets pushed around way to easily. I wonder if his weak gluteus medius is the cause of that as well.

My perception of why he runs like that is because he has extremely tight joints and ligaments due to his growth spurts.

He is working to correct the problem, here is an article by Draft Express on him going to a running doctor to have his movements analyzed and supposedly his awkward running can be fixed with simple exercises he does every day.
