Harris would be cool.  Orlando will match, though.
I fear the same.
Much will depend on whether they will draft a wing player.
If they draft a wing, then they might let Harris go.

He's going to go all in on the Kevin Durant situation and try to get him in a trade before he touches free agency.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
It starts with Monroe, that's the guy we need to get.
I agree. Monroe is my #1 target.

I don't think the Celtics are an attractive enough situation to get one of the established top stars like Marc Gasol or LaMarcus Aldridge. I think Monroe is the best up and coming star in the market and should be Boston's #1 priority.

Monroe lacks the tools to be a top defensive C but he has always had the tools to be an average to good defensive C. This year, Monroe finally started to show real commitment and improvement to the defensive side of his game. I was getting discouraged with his lack of progress in recent seasons but I am excited about this new maturity and understanding he has adding to his game. His focus and purposefulness has improved dramatically from previous years. Hard cuts, strong screens, attacking the glass more consistently. He is moving on from talented young guy to a real pro.
Monroe is a 4. Every center left in the Playoffs except SA is better than him. Cousins is the prize or WCB in draft. Period.

Lets get lucky and add Ben Simmons and Thon Maker too :)

I don't know about Faried, but may I add, if this does happen ( I wish this will happen ), can we use that 2015 pick on Harrell

and [dang], look at the toughness and competitiveness in Smart, Crowder, Cousins AND Harrell

I fully agree with this, and that is how we have to think if we want to build a contender. A player like Monroe would never be good enough to compete with the for courts of the legit contenders. If we can't get a guy like Cousins or Gasol, then we are better off saving the cap room and using our draft picks rather that settling for guys that would lock us into mediocrity. Let the Knicks have the players like Monroe.

I would bet money people thought the same way about KG and PP prior to them teaming up.   Monroe is not quite on their level but he is decent.  But people said these same things about them.

I don't buy this, what are you saying people said about KG? I don't know of anyone who questioned what he could do before he came to the Cs.  What kind of questions did they have because he was a beast long before coming here. Now I wasn't a Celts fan at the time but I have seen people say PP lacked maturity at that time. Maybe they questioned PP but I remember KG and no way there were questions about how good he was, if people did question how good he was then they weren't looking.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Would Ersan Ilyasova at PF complement Greg Monroe at C?
If the idea is to build a front court that is well-rounded in its defensive awfulness, then yes.

I love Faried. He's a solid system and a good coach away from being an All Star. There is still upside there. He's locked up with his Poison Pill extension, young, and Denver has been rumored to be looking to move him.

Nope. Most everyone knew KG was an elite talent on both ends of the floor. Not even close with Monroe. We know he's not even close to good on the defensive end, and not elite on offense

Yeah, I think comparing KG's and Pierce's criticisms to that of Monroe is unfair, but there is indeed a parallel. KG had a penchant of criticism that he couldn't win as the best player because of all his failures getting out of the first round and his passiveness in the 4th quarter.

Pierce was looked as selfish and a poor defender, etc.

But they were looked as much better players than Monroe is of course. I'd say Pierce and KG critics are more in line with that of Carmelo Anthony for example, McGrady and the likes.

Greg Monroe at 24 - 15 pts, 10 boards, 2 assists and 1 steals a game.

Al Horford at 24 - 15 pts, 9 boards, 3.5 assists and .8 steals a game.

Horford shot a much better percentage from the field than Monroe at the same age, but Monroe shot a lot better before Drummond arrived and forced him out of his natural role on the court.
