Mean-spirited move, if you ask me.
Regardless of what Rajon Rondo did (or not), he did suit up in 2 playoff games.
Instead of just cutting losses and moving on, DAL is choosing to make this a media farce.
It is better to pin their playoff showing on Rajon Rondo than face the fact that THIS Dirk and Tyson are 4 years older than the ones that took the floor in 2011. It is also a sad showing that another player I like a lot (Chandler Parsons) was not able to suit up as well.
So let's ignore all these things and pin the loss on Rajon Rondo - by choosing to not play him playoff shares?
You kidding me?
Mark Cuban said some disparaging things about other players who left, too. I love Cuban, but at the end of the day you separate your personal feelings from some issues like this. Just cut your losses and move on.
We ALL have to account for the things we do. You can't be mean-spirited like this as an organization.
Do you think Rondo is holding himself accountable for how things transpired this season? Particularly, the postseason?
I am sure he is. According to KG's comments about him, he is a reflective - yet hardheaded at times - person.
I am also certain that there are other things at play with him as well that we don't know about - as we discussed before, Don.
I can also hope that Rick Carlylse and other DAL players are holding themselves accountable, too.
As Celtics Fans, we always discuss TEAM play. Team Play is what Celtics Basketball is all about. Other teams attempt to focus on team, but not many carry through with Team Ball.
Team Ball also means that you WIN and LOSE as a team.
If DAL beat HOU, overcame the issue with Rondo and Coach Carlylse, ended up winning that series and moving on I doubt that this would've happened.
Sounds like someone in DAL is unhappy that Tyson couldn't keep Dwight off the boards and The Bearded One did as he pleased.
As fans, sadly - we never know ALL the story. Only what ESPN and other media outlets feed us.
It also doesn't help that Rajon Rondo failed miserably Media 101. We have ALL discussed this on CelticsBlog before.
