True. Love is out, Lebron is cold from the floor, and we're still down by double-digits. It's why I don't understand the arguments folks make to add role players in the off-season. We're at least two legit stars away from being contenders.

Still, devil's advocate -- it looks like the Celtics aren't going to be picking in the top 5 anytime soon. No, the roster isn't very good, but with Stevens coaching and the young talent on the roster, it would take a pretty epic tear down job by Ainge to get this team to the bottom.
With that in mind, why not build toward the middle, as long as it doesn't compromise flexibility? Don't give out long term contracts to role players, but if you can acquire quality players for a bargain (as they did with IT), what is there to lose?
