We will have to overpay and take a risk on Green who might not be as good without Curry, Thompson.

But then again he came 2nd in voting for defensive player of the year and is the kind of talent that can guard Lebron on his own and alot of pfs and even some centers in the league.  He can shoot the three, pass and is an excellent ball handler for his size.

It will take 10-12 million a season to get Green (who is kind of similar player to Leonard)

No way GSW will be able to match , unless they can get creative with their salary situation.

I would like to also add Danny Green and a guy like Ed Davis or Robin Lopez. We have the money to sign all of these three guys.

I think if everything works out , we could be at least as good as the Bulls and have a chance to beat these annoying Cavs.

FA signings
Draymond Green - 12 Million a season for 4 years
Danny Green - 7 million a season for 4 years
Robin Lopez - 7 million a season for 3 years

Draft
16 - Jerian Grant
28 - Mcculough
33 - Martin
45 - De Paula

Offseason moves
*trade ET for player (waived) and 2nd round pick
*sign Crowder to 5.5 million a season for 4 years

Starting lineup
C- Lopez
PF - Draymond Green
SF - Danny Green
SG - Smart
PG - Grant

Bench
C - Zeller
PF - KO/Sullinger
SF - Crowder
SG - AB
PG - IT

Extras
Young
Martin
Mcculough
Wallace
Pressey

He's kind of a weird player, with no real fit position wise with his size. But that seems to be less important in today's NBA so I'll take him. ;D

Be interesting who they go after, even more interesting to see if they get anyone.

Robin Lopez - 7 million a season for 3 years

This seems incredibly optimistic.  I think I'd be willing to offer him twice as much if it would get him to leave Portland.

It will take more than 12 million to make Golden State decline the opportunity to match.

Perhaps try to squeeze Barnes out of them then?

show me the money.  And you can steal away good players .

GSW need to trade David Lee, gain an exception etc. something to free up cap space. Next year it may go up to 80 million and GSW is already committed to 78 million next season. Even if it goes up to 85 million, they still will be short to sign D. Green. Unless D. Green loves GSW so much , takes a paycut to resign to a better deal the year after.  If GSW wins a championship this season, he will be less interested to stay on the cheap and looking for a hefty raise to secure his future.

Spurs on the other hand have alot of space for next season and likely can keep Danny Green.  Chances are 50/50 we get him and I rather not overpay for him.  We could instead try to pry Middleton away from the Bucks.

Robin Lopez time with Portland will come to an end.  At times it has been awkward for him to play with Aldridge. Two inside players clogging up the lane. Late in games Lopez usually sits. So he may want out and get a bigger role somewhere else.   Mobile big, good rebounder, shot blocker.  His 7'6 wingspan finally helps protect the rim

  • GOT IT!!!
Personally I would go hard after Kawhi, Butler, or Green in the off-season then hope the C's could land one of them. This summer is really important, Ainge needs to add a legit piece with the cap space that will be available. It doesn't have to be a top 10 player but it definitely needs to be better player than any on the roster right now.

Then how much? 15 million?

even at 12 million, how can GSW sign him, when already near the max?

Also I mean there will be other teams that could give Green 12 million a season. But I think he will be a really good fit under CBS. Celtics would be a team he would not mind playing for

What max? There's no hard cap. If they have to stray into the luxury tax for one season, I'm sure they'd do it to keep a contending team together.

Could even stretch Lee this offseason if they had to. That'd free up $10 mil.

Draymond Green, Kawhi Leonard, Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris will all probably get max deals from their current teams. If Harris leaves it would probably be New York because he loves them. Brandon Knight will likely sign with Phoenix for the max as well. And Greg Monroe will probably get a max deal from somewhere. I think Gasol and Deandre Jordan will resign for max. Aldridge will get a max either in Portland or if he leaves he will still get it in San Antonio I think. Dragic wi resign in Miami for max I think. We should focus on realistic targets such as Khris Middleton.

good pt. I guess it will take up to 14-15 million a season.  Definitely a little risky. But if we build a similar environment as GSW, he could just keep trucking.

GSW and Bulls can't go over that much.  Yes there is no max but this is the NBA also not MLB

They can do whatever they want. It would be cheap and unambitious for a very wealthy franchise to be scared of the luxury tax like they are a small business. But if they are scared of the luxury tax they can always use a pick to trade Lee or Gibson or someone.

I'd agree with pretty much all of this. I even think Middleton could get the max from a team looking to steal him away from the Bucks.

I do think the term "market max" will be borne out this offseason.
