Oh god, not this again.

Did nobody learn from the first time around?

Players visit places all the time, it doesn't mean they are going to sign there.

Honestly I'm just tired of hearing this guys name, I don't want him anywhere near Boston.  Signing Love would require a max contract of something like $25 million, and he's absolutely not worth that type of money.

I'd much rather try and land Greg Monroe for $13M to $15M - a far better value option given that he basically does everything Love does (except shoot too many threes) for half the money.

Love is a Laker next season

Love, Rondo, Kobe, Randle and first round pick, unless they are not in top 5, right?  If they end up with Towns, that would be a pretty good team.
That's a solid lineup.  Plus they have Jordan Clarkson... who a lot of experts ranked higher than Marcus Smart in the rookie rankings this year.
Smart looks great tonight so far tho.

Also how do you view Jordan Clarkson ie what do you think he projects as?
star, starter (high level or low level), 6th man, key roll player, peripheral role player etc.

well larbrd views smart as a defensive role player... so take it with a grain of salt

No idea.  His performance seemed pretty unexpected.  Second half of the season he averaged 17 points, 5.4 assists, 4.6 rebounds, 1 steal on 48%/31%/84% shooting.   I don't know what to make of it.   Maybe he'll be a nice trade chip for them after they add Rondo, Love and Okafor.

I don't put much stock at all in the performance of guards playing for teams that want to lose every single game in March and April.  It just doesn't mean anything.

Clarkson might be a decent player, or he might be in the D-League within a year or two.

Very few people do... but there are some exceptions on the this board.

I mean, I think the majority of fans just look at the point per game total when deciding what kind of rookie season a player had compared to other rookies.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Look Boston, I hate to be rude, but he's not leaving Cleveland. Why would he?

We are going to be the class of the NBA for the next 5-7 years and Cleveland is honestly just a better city overall. Also, our women are better looking and Mr. Love is a single man.

You've got 17 freaking rings. Stop being greedy. You guys will have a nice little team over the next decade but your time is done.

By the way. Thanks for taking Zeller off our hands. Not only did it help us land LBJ, but it also lets our guys pad their offensive rebound statistics every time we play you.

No one outside of Cleveland thinks it is a better city than Boston and the tourism numbers bear that out.

As to your girls being better looking. Only if you like fat girls, MA has the third lowest obesity rate in the country, Ohio has the 35th.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

If I've said it once, I'll say it a hundred times.  Our play this summer SHOULD BE moving up and drafting WCS on draft night, rolling out the red carpet for Love in free agency, and then finding a way to S/T for a stud wing.

Kawhi COULD be had if Danny can piece together a Godfather offer to San Antonio.  San Antonio loves Kawhi, but even they would pull the trigger for the right price.

I also feel like Pierce is coming back if Danny can execute the first half of the offseason plan.

Love will stay in Cleveland.

I don't understand the blind confidence in this. By everything I have ever read written about the guy he is pretty quirky and introverted and likes to do his own thing. If anything, that would make him really unpredictable. How can we so confidently assume we know what he wants to do? I think he could do just about anything (besides go back to Minnesota)

1.  He's said he wants to stay in Cleveland;

2.  Woj reported that Love / his agent made a commitment to extend in Cleveland before the season;

3.  Cleveland can offer the most money; and

4.  Cleveland offers the best shot at winning.

I don't think that it's "blind" confidence.
Plus if he opts in he will then be a free agent when the cap explodes the following summer.  He will be in Cleveland next year.  16-17 is a different matter.  That said, I expect Cleveland to win the title this year and they very might next year as well.  I can't see him leaving the two time defending champs who can offer him the most money, most years, and the best shot at winning titles.  Frankly even if they don't win both or even one of the next two, it will be hard for him to turn down the money, years, and shot at winning that Cleveland offers.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal
Wings -  Lebron James
