For some reason, Stevens was sore at him last night or he didn't like what he saw. He played four minutes, some of that might be because Sully was hitting some shots. I think Stevens went with Sully last night because he was playing better. Stevens usually rides the hot hand.
I don't think that was the reason. He was playing Sully because out of our current big guys, he's really the one playing better defense. And I don't mean that as he's the better defender out of them, but he's the one that actually can match-up with the Cleveland bigs and actually box them out.
Stevens learned the lesson the hard way when he started Olynyk in the 3rd quarter of the first game, it was a big mistake.
So right now he's attempting, for the most part, to keep one of Zeller or Sully in the floor at all times, at least while Mozgov or Thompson is in the game.
What one has to look for is what's going with Bass. He's been terrible defensively in the playoffs, which is a surprise. I don't like his defense, but at least in the past he has shown up with good effort during the playoffs. That's where Jerebko fits if anything.
But for now you need to keep Sully in there against the Cavs bigs, let's just hope he keeps doing enough offensively and keeps his rhythm to make it worthwhile.
