Pau Gasol led the Spanish National Team to a win over Greece on Tuesday, scoring 27 points on 10-of-18 shooting to go with nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks, one 3-pointer and three turnovers over 31 minutes.

Pau is hitting three pointers now and is primed for another big year after returning top-15 value last season. He's the chief reason I've won two titles and is one of only two holdovers from my original 2008 squad. (The other being the badly underrated Nene Hilario.)

Pau has had a pretty amazing career, both in the NBA and Intl. He's starting his 17th NBA season, has two rings (with the Fakers), and coming off a season where he averaged 18.5pts and a career best 11.8rebs per game. He's rarely ever injured and despite what Kobe says, he balls every night.



The injury thing is huge for big guys. Pau, Dirk, and KG are all legit 7'ers who's bodies have held up for an inexplicable amount of time.




Pau will have his spot in the HOF, but not only b/c he's a great NBA player, but he's also one of what he has done for bball in Spain & worldwide.... and of course, helping TWW to two H2H League titles

This was a tough trade to make but realistically I'm taking a step back this season with my rookies, and I wasn't confident either guy would put up similar numbers this season, so the offseason was the time to move.  I think Amir is a bit of a buy-low and Jones is another roll of the dice with a good shot at doing well in the L once Minny inevitably dumps Rubio.

Bacon seems to be making a win-now push this year and it's good to see.  Interested to watch how this develops.

Trust me, I am not spiking the football...I think it was a deal that could absolutely hurt my team in the long haul...but if both guys can stay healthy, they could help me make a nice push this year.

Wondering how you guys feel about this one.  I was very hesitant to pull the trigger on this one, but at the end of the day felt like if I am getting the clear cut best player in the deal, it hopefully can't go too bad. 

I think LaVine will only get better and Johnson is going to be a stud - Rudy Gay type guy...so I may regret it later.  But Wall is still only 25 and is a legit 20/10 guy...Just couldn't pass it up.  What do you think?

FWIW....if that pick is top 10, this trade is a failure for MMSB.  The idea is for it to be #20....

I think UF is banking on your pick being high - unless Johnson/LaVine become really productive players he's going to lose on that end.  If your team makes the playoffs you should easily win the trade; if not it depends where it falls.

A request for all GMs: PLEASE DO NOT ANNOUNCE YOUR own trades.

I know it sounds silly, but the purpose of submitting them is that I have to double check that all the players/picks both teams say they're trading are on the original teams and that both GMs actually confirm the trade.

I do my best to post them as quickly as possible (in this instance 1 team didn't confirm unti 7:57 am). I don't want a situation where a trade has to get reworked, rescinded — or worse another GM get all worked up over a trade that was not confirmed — just because one GM couldn't wait 45 mins.

(and I really don't want the situation where other GMs are complaining b/c the trade hasn't been listed on the 2nd post of this thread or in the rosters page.)
