I know a fair amount (i.e., somewhere between "just enough to be dangerous" and "victim of my last conversation") about the first round prospects, but almost nothing about the second rounders.  We've talked a lot about who to take with #16 and 27/28. So what do we do in the second round?

I'm thinking that, with the first pick (#33 overall), we take Upshaw or Dakari Johnson. I'm normally a fan of BPA, but these guys both have a tremendous risk/reward tradeoff. Might as well shoot for the stars. If they are busts, all we lose is a second-round pick.  I would not be opposed to Justin Anderson, either. A little small, but he looked great in the few games where I saw him.

I couldn't even begin to guess with the second pick (#44 overall). Draft Express has us taking Guillermo Hernangomez, but I'm rooting for Poeltl in the first round and I don't want poor Tommy tripping over too many names that are tough to pronounce. ;)

My thoughts exactly. I guess it depends on who we take with our first rounders.

I think we use both picks to move up a few spots with our first round picks. I expect the C's to only carry two rookies on their roster next year so either they trade two of their picks to move up or they pick foreign guys in the second round and stash them.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'd think they's use 16 and 26 to move up, leaving us 33 and a draft & stash. And for high risk/high reward players Upshaw, Johnson, and Anderson could really fit the bill.

I really like Anderson if he is still available in the second round. UVA was one of the best teams in the country before he got hurt and he was the best player on their team.

You're not going to move up very far with the 16 and 26.

Best thing to do is to move the firsts for future picks and then use them in a package for a star, which will prob be next season. there's no point in drafting late first round..

We already have more future firsts than we know what to do with. if we can pick someone who is undervalued then develop them, that probably will be worth more than a future late first we would get for moving the 26th pick.

I wouldn't be surprised if they packaged picks this year along with future picks to move up if they really like someone.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I would love to get both or one of the Harris twins in the 2nd round. Hard workers, weren't afraid to play hard on both ends.

Andrew is the point guard at 6' 6"

Aaron is the shooting guard at 6'6" (nicer stroke- probably my fave of the two)

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

At least one Euro player for once. Draft and stash.

For the 76ers pick, that is an easy one. A 1st round prospect that drops. Hoping for one  of Jarell Martin , mcculough, dunn or wright

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
LeBryan Nash.

Good athlete, scoring instincts, improved constantly. Completely misused in Ok. State. He'll be a good wing prospect for cheap.

Wright would be a steal if he makes it to the 2nd round.

Good call. Very good mid range game

And I love the fact that he's very under the radar. His stock may rise if he measures well athletically, which I think he will, but won't be high enough that he will be within reach. That kid has shown he can get to the rim, something we can't say to a ton of 2nd round prospects.

Measured pretty well too. Legit 6'7" with a 6'10" wingspan. He's a solid project to have.

I'd wager he's one T away from being a surefire hall of Famer.

Dakari Johnson if his workout is good perhaps.
