I remember Ainge saying he didn't see any real impact of franchise players in last years draft. Either he was bluffing like usual or didn't properly scout as Wiggins looks like a young Kobe with his post game.

I've been extremely impressed with how polished his post game has become in just one season. He's already developing go to moves in the post that will let him be a 25 PPG type player combined with his athleticism.

Was DA just doing his usual posturing? I thought he sounded sincere and maybe somehow missed the boat on scouting Wiggins scoring ability.

He was full of crap.  He was hoping Embiid would fall to us at 6.

at the time Ainge made those comments, wasn't Embiid's stock rising? didn't he start the yr. as a borderline top 10 pick?

That is a GM trying to downplay fan expectations and hoping rival GM's believe it.  Nothing more than a PR move by a man in PR.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Do you really expect Danny to offer his honest opinion on upcoming drafts?
