Sullinger attitude

Just listening to mike Gorman on sports hub really respect him and his opinion.  They were asking him about Sullinger, he did not exactly give him a ringing endorsement.  I don't know I was a fan of sully but he is starting to come across as arrogant and immature to me.  I really wonder if he,rondo, and green were toxic in that locker room.   Do others get this same vibe?

In general I did.

I think the recent health scares and the fact that he will be a free agent next year have put him on his best behavior. Losing weight, then him being quoted as saying he just wants to fit in with a team that is on a roll either indicates he is changing or he wants to make it seem like he is.

I really value what Gorman, Grande, Scal, etc. have to say about the C's. They're really plugged in so often they relay the general feelings of the club. For example, Scal was taking about Pangos (PG from Gonzaga) and said Stevens really likes him and feels he can play in the NBA. So immediately it makes me think that he'll be brought in as an undrafted guy to battle it out with Pressey for the 3rd string PG spot.

I really have no qualms with either Sully being moved or taking a hike after next season. 

Maybe he gets his act together on all fronts but I'm fine with the Celtics going forward without Sully being a part of their long-term future.  I don't think he's the long term answer at PF to begin with.

Right so the hosts said they thought sullinger was being brought back as trade bait this summer and Gorman said that was not a wild thought to have.  Also I thought this was really weird Gorman said he spoke to sullinger the day before they announced his return.  Gorman said sullinger told him the day before he was done for the season.  Then the next day Gorman said sully put his arm around him and was smiling saying Mikey....this is probably just me but why does he call the coach Brad and mike gorman Mikey?  To sum up he said he could see why people would think sullinger, green, rondo are locker room problems.  He did not say sully was a problem.  But he thinks sully is here long term only if he makes some significant changes.

I like the way he plays, but is a total defensive liability once we play a team with a PF taller than 6'9".

With his major appeal being rebounding, he's 3-point stroke is good enough that we could get some value out of him as a trade asset. Maybe in this year's draft?

Same here.  I think his biggest value to the Boston Celtics is as a trade chip.

I was disappointed that he felt like he had to explain that he didn't want to disrupt the offense and how he told Brad that he wasn't expecting any plays run for him. I get the feeling he's got a big head and expects to automatically be one of the primary options again next year. Which if he loses the weight and improves, I have no problem with. But I hope that job is not on hold for him. If Smart improves or we get some players in the offseason who are better then him, and he has not lost the weight, he better take a backseat.

I think he was our best player before the all star break. Then he went down and the C's started playing better.

I truly like Sully and hope he can lose a large amount of weight and better fit into Stevens' system; however, I would not be heartbroken to see him traded on draft day and pick up a guy like Harrell with the Clips pick in the draft. Sully and KO, while both possessing different strengths, are both too limited athletically. We really need to get an energetic, shot blocker type in the front court to really move forward (Ibaka, anybody??). Being last in blocks/game isn't a position any team wants to be in.
