If Marcus Smart purposely wound up and punched Bonner in the groin, he should be suspended.  It's as egregious as it gets.  But even though it looks like a wind up and hit (doesn't look good for Marcus), I just have a hard time believing that it was an intended (albeit impulsive) punch to the groin as opposed to an arm on the up-swing as Bonner came in for the pick/block.

If Marcus impulsively punches people in the crotch when he gets frustrated, that's a real problem -- Artest-esque.

Pressey in with almost 9 in the third, I already knew the Spurs would go on a run.

Ridiculous officiating as well.
Goal for next season: Top 2 seed.
Say goodbye to: Turner, Zeller, Sully.

I thought Smart pulled a similar move to the Payton head butt vs Westbrook last game.  He butted Westbrook in the cheekbone and forced him to leave the game.  I love Smart's aggressiveness, but he also knows how to play dirty.  Not a fan of that.

purpose or accident??

http://www.masslive.com/celtics/index.ssf/2015/03/marcus_smart_ejected_after_del.html

I need to see it in slow motion......his fist was close ......seemed above the junk .   Looked line wrist into the kidney to me.

A direct haymaker by a guy with the strength of Smart  to the junk of.."would have sent him out on stretcher .

But ....the ball shot by Love to Blake Griffin   Was worse ......and kinda funny too .....

I saw it on a continual play rerun, it didn't look like it was an accident.

Looked as if he almost got Splitter right before that too. Oh well, live and learn. I hope no suspension, that would be a crucial setback for our playoff hopes. IT being out and Smaht, please nooooooo!!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I'm glad Smart did what he had to. That will teach that Bonner guy. Tried to block him like it was a football play.
If the league doesn't suspend him, the Celtics might.

Danny can 't cast no stone s...he was dirty as anybody ......you didn't see him play ?

That really doesn't matter you know this is a different era of basketball and that type of stuff will not be tolerated by the refs at all. Smart needs to learn his lesson period. Can't have the label of a dirty player as a rookie.

The fouls Smaht keeps committing are not in any way good for us or him. The elbow on Payton and tonight aren't a good look. If it was Wade, everyone would be talking about how dirty those plays are.

Clean it up kid. Let's move on from here!

I'll wait until he intentionally breaks a guy's arm before I even think his plays are close to Wade... Smart seems to have trouble controlling his emotions at times. Wade actually tries to injure other players, IT the latest beneficiary

Bruce Bowen and KG are known for their dirty plays.

you also can't see how smart gets his arm stuck on the player before. His arm came up high. The natural reaction is to bring your arm back down. He also had to brace himself cause Bonner came at him with a hard boner. I mean hard screen.

Brad doesn't think it was accidental:

@celtics: Stevens on Smart's Flagrant 2 ejection: "From my standpoint, it looks like an unacceptable play. You can't do that."

Brad basically said he did it on purpose in the post game conference... get ready for the lineup next game, AB, Pressey, and Turner...

The contact was intentional for sure......I guess it's the type of contact. .....it looked like he was trying to throw his for arm into the gut ....he swung his arm ...but the closed fist is gonna kill him......then it becomes a punch.

If he had connected direct. Hit on the family jewels ,  man Bonner would gave passed out ...woke up talking like Cinderella

Oh well......nobody cares if D Wade does this dirty move nearly every game .....he only gets a foul called  on him....rarely any thing worse.

I'm not talking about what Wade has done, no one is arguing that he isn't dirty. You can keep calling these plays by Smart accidental but any other player would be called dirty. Leave Wade out of it and exchange it for any other players people call dirty. If it's a dirty move by them, it's dirty when it's Smart.

Either way, he needs to stop it. Not because I don't like our players roughing people up, I just don't like the plays that can hurt us, not only the game he committed the foul in but possible suspensions. You have to be smarter. Run through picks, don't hit...  :o

I wonder if it was frustration or retaliation ?

What Smart did was inexcusable, actually not very bright, but everyone better get use to his intensity, when Marcus Smart steps on the court, it's not a game, it's a war. If your on his team he expects you to match his intensity. Kind of like KG.
