A perimeter trio of Smart, Bradley, Johnson really makes me salivate. That's a lockdown defender at 3 positions, I feel like Smart's offense will eventually come once the game slows down for him and I expect Johnson to have a similar rookie year where he's great on D but doesn't have the scoring consistency.

I know we need a big man and I also know that the chances that Johnson makes it out of the top 5 are slim, but if Danny could get this done we would have 3 potential all-defensive players on our team for the next 5 years.

I can dream can't I?  ;D

A lot of people would love to get Stanley Johnson. The question is how?

We do have a ton of assets, we could certainly move it and possibly overpay to move up and be able to draft him, but I'm not entirely sure if whoever is in that spot would be willing to do that. Johnson can be a special player, and it's going to take possibly a lot of assets or another special player to be able to reach him.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

Its been brought up in other posts but Chad Ford has reported that there is not a consensus Wing ranking amongst scouts. Winslow, Herzonja, Oubre and Johnson are all supposedly viewed as a tight group. Ford goes on to stay that Johnson could be the guy who falls to the 10-12 range based off of a perceived lack of high ceiling.

I think this is crazy and view his as clearly better then Oubre or Winslow. Herzonja is probably at a similar level. If Ford is right and he does fall I would think DA would be able to cash in some assets to move up. I would think #15, #25, and #33 might be enough to get a team to move. Would even offer up #15 and Young if it meant getting Johnson. He seems like a perfect fit at the 3 for this team. He has a similar skill set to Crowder but is bigger and only 18. I imagine him as a great starting 3 and small ball 4 who BS could really utilize.

He is all over the place in terms of performance.

Consistency is not his strong suit.

Ford also said he doesn't think SJ has star potential and that Oubre has the higher ceiling long-term.

Would be a defensive nightmare for teams.  And would set the tone for the rest of the players on the team.  Would love so too.  Depends how attainable he'd be in the scenario where the Celtics would have to trade up for him.

I'm on board like you are.

Chad Ford has been wrong before. His big board isn't the end all.

I'm not sure I buy into where Ford has Johnson currently ranked. I think someone among the 3 top college 3's will stand out in the tournament and improve their stock. If I had to guess it will go Johnson, Winslow then Oubre but really I would be fine with any of those guys (provided WCS and Turner are off the board)
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

We already have a project in Young. Oubre is described as being a mix of Kendall Gill/Young...witch more defensive potential who knows though

Turner I'm just so iffy on. He's either the bust or the steal of the draft...not sure yet.

Now don't you worry about Uncle Chad.  If, five years from now, he turns out to be wrong, he can always go back and fix it.
