I used to think Brandon Bass was just a decent player, but he's flourished this season, and I've really come to enjoy him. Seems like a great teammate, is definitely a hard worker, and has more to his game than I realized—he even passes!
My favorite thing about Bass is the fact that he goes up strong and dunks with two hands at nearly every opportunity. This is so much more enjoyable than watching Glen Davis barely able to reach the rim.
I know there are other Bass lovers out there; what do you appreciate about him? (My apologies if there's already a Bass appreciation thread.)
I've alway appreciated Bass, he certainly has faults, but so do our other Power forwards. His defense is better than both KO and Sully, he plays every possession, his conditioning is up to par with his profession, he's a decent scorer.
I know...his hand are not that reliable, he doesn't protect the rim, and he's 29 years old.
Bass has forced me to realize that maybe Sully taking so many possessions off, was causing the C's to be a below average defensive team. That's all I know is since Bass has started, our interior defense is much better. Zeller is benefitting from someone having his back.
I understand Bass is not the guy to build around, but honestly I'm not sure the power forward to build around exists on this team.
